Seriously though, as far as tequilas go, I always go with Sauza Tres Generations if I'm drinking it straight up. It'll cost you about 10 dollars less than Patron and it is just as tasty. No chaser necessary!

For rum and soda combinations, I always mix with Myers dark rum. Very inexpensive and it has a unique taste that blends well with soda. My favorite mixer with rum is Diet Dr. Pepper. If you havenlt tried it, it's really good.

For drinking rim straight up, you have to try Mount Gay rum. Because of the name, I wouldn't suggest ordering it at the bar with your buddies unless you want to have you man card revoked. It is a really good sipping rum though.
