First of all Scranton before you call people haters READ THE WHOLE THREAD! I think he is a 4* player and I said that. Do you think because your from Scranton you may be a little biased? He is not a 5* player. He's a good player that would really benefit from hitting the camps this summer.

Shrive has so much upside its not even funny. He has progressed so much as the season went on last year, and he will continue to progress throughout his football career. On top of that he is very athletic for his size. On top of that he plays mean as **** on the field (NEPA and coal region smash mouth football). And finally on top of all that, when you grow up in Scranton you either are a ND fan or a PSU fan, and luckily for us the family is ND.

There was a good article in the scranton times about a St. Patricks Day breakfast that his family takes part in every year. Its shows that he comes from a quality family and it briefly mentions ND as the team of the household. The Times-Tribune - West Scranton family’s parade day breakfast a standing-room only St. Patrick’s tradition.

FWIW there is a poster on the Scout board that goes to Shrive's high school. Many Illinois fans have been saying they will land Shrive because of his relationship with Hubie Graham but this poster states that they aren't very good friends and that he will probably be ND bound.

I figured that as well, there not even in the same grade. Usually if your real good fiends with some one its some one in your own grade, some one you were in the same class or sports team year after year.

Shrives got a team mate going to Nebraska in his grade, hes probably better friends with him then with Graham.

Ok, I talked to a coach who coached against Shrive the past 3 years. He says Shrive is a legitimate big time prospect. He went as far as to say that a coach from West Virginia said that Shrive is the best prospect at his position that he's seen. Take it for what its worth, but questioning the kids work ethic without having any knowledge about the kid is a bit ridiculous.

Having an opinion isn't ridiculous. I don't care what your opinion is. I'll question his work ethic if I see it being a flaw. Watch his recruitment playout.

No it was brought up on the rivals mainboard a few weeks ago and they linked the ND scout board and a kid from Scranton who knows both said they aren't really that tight. I have been trying to find the thread but no luck.

Shrive and Young are nothing alike. Young was a 5* and the number 3 player in the country.

Well if we are going by scout ratings then Shrive is also a 5* (albeit not the #3 player in the nation but #23 isn't too shabby). And the main point of my comparison was that "both are massive young men that obviously dominated on the high school level b/c of their size". IMHO there are some valid similarities there. No disrespect, just trying to clarify my line of reasoning.

That, or, maybe he wanted to learn how to change the diapers of an old man. Who knows what goes on with some of their decision making these days. :frenchy:

This is for PSU hater. Apparently he isn't happy with the fact that there will be a coaching change at the end of this year. He is still a PSU verbal, but I thought you would like to know

who knows what they told him before he commited. im not saying they are a shady recruiting staff but he may have been told something before the decision was made. BUT if he is unhappy and thinking of decommiting i hope he knows that we are still very open to him coming here and becoming one of the greats
