I love charlie and sometimes dislike Rothstein, but there was one question that bothered me. Rothstein did bring up a good point that Charlie stated before the season that Jimmy was 100% but admitted the staff knew something was needed to correct his arm, whether it was rest or a scope.

This is in the past and I could really care less about what happened anymore, but I think Charlie has to protect his players and also be honest with the media and fans. I realize this may be easier said than done, but in such a politically correct world, it bothers me when people can't just be straight forward with their answers.

Charlie must have been wrong about winning w/ "hoodlums and thugs". That's "da U" and they sucked last year!

Sorry, I just couldn't pass on dissing the Canes on that statement!!!

I like Charlie, He took alot of crap last year (some deserved) and is keeping his head up looking toward the future. I think he will breath new life into this team, it's just taken a little longer than some of us hoped. Obviously his recruiting has been great compared to the last.... too many years. Notre Dame is on the rise people, I can feel it in my blood!

I have found that people who don't like CW, don't like him before they talk to him, and afterwards, if they don't hear the answers they expect from him, they turn around and add spin, or question his honesty and don't want to believe or like him.

I listen to him, I believe what he says, and gosh darn it, I like him!

I can feel it in the recruiting rankings...

"Then we'll listen to Michigan have all their excuses as they come running in, saying how they have a new coaching staff (under Rich Rodriguez) and those changes. To hell with Michigan."

What an a**. After the sorriest season in the history of NDFB, he is all bluster. CW should be glad that MICHIGAN keeps ND on their schedule at all. He needs to retire. NOW.

Michigan could very well be going to the same path that ND went down last year, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

It won't suprise me a bit either... could be a very bad year or two for Michigan

But after that, I believe they have potential to be good, possibly return to their glory days, but the big variable will be DickRod and how well he can recruit a major school like UM, or rather how many 4* and 5* recruits get scared off by him.

Michigan and Illionis will dominate that conference in three plus years if the rest of the conference (tOSU included) don't bring their playbooks into the 21st century... next year and possibly two years from now??? Not so much for Michigan

I am sorry guys, but I don't see the "Spread Offense" as the offense of the 21st century. Yes, it is very popular right now. Defenses will eventually solve the Spread just like they solved the Wishbone, the Veer, the Run and Shoot and the West Coast offense.

Sure, but if one conference has had trouble with it to this point more than any other it's the Big 10... no???

I have a little difficulty being smug toward any school after last season. I love ND, i don't like our opponents, but last year was like poopoing our pants in public. It will take me a while to look them all in the eye again.

Yeah, not in a very good position to be giving an opponent some serious motivation.

Hey, um TH? You say CW needs to retire now because he is trying to fire up the base at a Spring game-day brunch? Are you one of those "the sky is falling, fair-weather fan who has unrealistic expectations that we go 12-0 every year and because the team lost last year lets cut everyone's head off and start over" kind of guys? Just wondering.

Yeah, not in a very good position to be giving an opponent some serious motivation.

keep in mind i seriously doubt CW thought those comments made to fans at the B&G breakfast would ever be heard outside the breakfast. it's not like he said them at a public pep rally or in an interview.

thus, i don't have a problem with him saying it to fire up the fan base at a semi-private breakfast.

my only points was I can't have that kind of attitude given last year. But I would expect nothing less from the coach whose job it is to fire up the team and the fans to believe they can win.

no doubt Michigan, Mich State, USC, and all the coaches of our opponents are going to fire up their teams by saying "ND? those sorry SOB's don't even deserve to play D-1 football after last year. They don't belong on the same field as us. Those winey pieces of poop should wear paper bags on their heads instead of gold helmets out of shame for how badly we're going to beat them..."

Can't really reply to somebody who has a name like that. But you do have to question the sensibilities of one who calls on a coach like Weis to "retire". Wrong board. Maybe he's looking for Fox Sports or ESPN...

I don't like the bulletin board material but in reality, I've heard much worse. Non-issue for me...

sorry guys it kinda made me mad to read the post from touchdown hezus, but im the type of fan that stands behind his team no matter what happens. That means the players and definatly our coach. Last year was hard to watch at times but come on we had our bright spots and good game or bad game we are still NOTRE DAME!! GO IRISH
