Craig just picked up an offer from ND today when Mike Haywood and Charlie Weis stopped by his school.

He already has official offers from Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Minnesota, Colorado, Florida, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and LSU, and he mentioned that he would like to go to school out of state.

Oklahoma and Florida are considered the early front runners.

Craig also ran a 4.26 40 at a camp at Oklahoma, and he consistantly runs in the 4.3s.

He's a huge hitter and takes angles wellwhich gets him to the ball instantly

You are dead on with that evaluation ND=NC, this kid is a human torpedo with bad intentions!
Great angle, excellent speed and good nose for the ball makes this another player we definitely need to focus on. Time to unleash the Titan of Recruiting...CB!!! :bbanana:  :bbanana:  :bbanana:

It feels so weird looking at the 09 class already. Some times of the 08 class flew by like spring and summer...and the rest dragged until NSD. I'm interested to see how things take picture in the next months

Does this guy have UT written all over him like 75% of the kids from that state?

apparently he wants to get out of the state. i can't think of a better place for a young man to be then in south bend playing for the Irish.

I agree and this kid is IMO the modern day Ronnie Lott, he's a vicious hitter and is insanely fast as well as being lightning quick.

Dear Lord, Can we get this viscous hitter controlling Center Field? We have to beat out Oklahoma, Texas pretty much every top team in College Football. I've never seen a Safety look this good in a long time. Plus he can run in the 4.2's and can hit. I know we are a longshot and Charlie offered him immediately so it may help it may not. If we can get him look out Receivers coming over the middle here comes Loston.

I watched an interview of Loston and he said that he wants to play both ways in college (at WR and FS). He said that on a visit to Oklahoma he asked the coaches if it would be possible for him to do that and they said yes. If ND wants to have a shot at him it looks like they are gonna have to do the same

They'll give him a "chance" to compete for each side, but to play both sides during the duration of a game? Keep dreaming Mr. All Star.

Loston likes the SEC
By Matt Malatesta, Recruiting Analyst
Feb 20, 4:53 pm EST

Aldine (Texas) Eisenhower safety Craig Loston has been the talk of Houston since he came on the scene as a freshman.

“We’ve got us a good one here,” former Ike coach Darryl Phipps said in 2005. “He is the total package and he’s special. He’s physical, he can run and he can cover. Everyone is going to want this kid, but they are going to have to wait because he’s only a freshman.”

Coach Phipps was right. The 6-foot-1, heat-seeking missle is ranked 30th on the 2009 Rivals100, and has been offered by virtually every BCS school in the country.

While Loston is focusing on track right now, recruiting is never far off his mind.

“I’m really loving the SEC, right now,” he said. “I want to play where the best competition is and I truly feel that the SEC has the best competition. If I had a top five right now it would be LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma, Clemson and Michigan in no particular order. I would but Texas A&M up there too.”

Loston will miss LSU’s junior day this weekend to participate in his school’s track meet in The Woodlands, Texas.

“I’m running the 110-hurdles, the sprint relays and the triple jump,” he said. “I’ve been to LSU and liked it. I’m trying to set something up with Georgia and they have been doing a good job recruiting me. I’m going to Clemson the weekend of April 11th for their spring game. I’ll go a day early to meet some of their players.”

Four years in the making, Loston is happy to be entering his senior season and being the big man on campus.

“I’m really happy it’s here, but I’m going to try and graduate early,” he said. “I’m going to summer school to make that happen. I plan on making my decision before the season starts because I’ve seen what it does to people. It can get really stressful.”

Not looking good for the Irish...

Texas Safety May Soon Be A Tiger
By Phil Kornblut

DB Craig Loston (6-3 208) of Aldine, TX plans to visit Clemson with his mother for the Tigers' spring game in April, and right now the Tigers are so far in front of the rest of the 20 schools to offer him, he may go ahead and commit while on the visit. "They would be a nine," on a scale of ten rating the Tigers' lead on the pack Loston said Wednesday night. "I was going to commit to Clemson but my mom said to wait. My cousin (Russell Shepard) committed to LSU, and I like LSU, and my mom told me to wait until after I visit Clemson to give me something to compare. I've been to LSU several times." Loston also has offers from LSU, Kansas State, Colorado, Southern Cal, Michigan, Kansas and others. He actually took the first step in building the relationship with the Tigers. "I let them know I was interested and I sent them some film," he said. "They didn't know anything about me and I put myself out there for them. I like the way they play. I like their style and I think I would fit in well with their defense. I talk to coach (Billy) Napier once a week. I'm going to start talking to him two times a week." Last season Loston had 68 tackles with 3 interceptions. He also plays receiver and caught 17 passes for 847 yards and seven touchdowns averaging 33 yards per catch. And he had 400 yards in returns with two touchdowns. Loston, who said he has run a 4.34 forty, runs the 110 hurdles and the 4 X 100 and the 4 X 200 relays in track. He said he wants to major in pre-med and he also wants to take drama classes in college.
