I watched him on the video this weekend and he looks big. He also runs like a freakin gazelle. If we do not move him to OLB I think it is going to be tough for McCarthy to keep him from taking his spot. He looks so much bigger than Kyle and we know he is faster. CW mentioned late last season that Harrison was showing great skills. Go watch this kids highlight film, he will put you in awe. He has incredible speed and has incredible jumps. Our DB's are soo talented it is sick.

He is listed at 206. I want to see him on the field, but waiting and having to gain 20-25lbs and learning to play at that size doesn't sound like a good idea.

I think they are just practicing different blitz packages....

I bet Tenuta is partially responsible for this move atleast.

Remember what he did with Philip Wheeler.

The Cowboys did this with Roy Williams in the nickel defense. They played a 4-2-5 with Roy a SS playing LB which allowed for more coverage ability on the field at one time. I would be surprised to see a similar package with Harrison.

yeah, I don't see him moving to olb, doesn't have the size really and we will need the speed in the secondary. I'm with most everyone else, I can see him at olb in certain packages.

I don't see Harrison as a permanent OLB, however, I do think it is a good move to experiment with him there. First, it gets more speed at the LB position. Which could prove to be very valuable against traditional spread offenses like Michigan (Now) and Purdue. Second, Brain Smith has reportedly been practicing inside, making Toryan Smith the odd man out. That should light a fire under him. I hope so because Toryan Smith is appears to be a good run stuffer and I really like his confidence. I wished he could have took Brockington's spot last year. This may inspire him..........

Tenuta needs some fast guys for his blitz packages. I don't give too much credence to size, so long as the kid has:
1) Effort
2) Heart
3) One hell of a motor
4) Good technique

Guys,
Do not worry so much about each individual. I really believe what we are seeing is a development of many players who could be blended into different schemes depending on what the opposing offenses strengths and tendancies present. Our opposition better be aware of one thing in particular, this is not your typical lumbering slow ND defense. We will have sideline to sideline speed that has not been seen in a long time. Many times over the last few years I have screamed at how we could not beat teams to the edge. With the likes of Harrison, Brian, Kerry, Bruton and more, we have kids that can RUN. This is actually an area where Navy even hurt us last season. You watch these kids mature this year. When you have speed to cover the corners and lockdown CB's it is much easier to fix our slight weakness on the DL.

That was friggin hilarious WWB....

I'm all in for speed. Get that guy on the field and let him do his thing. I remember GA Tech having tweener types and just flying around the field. Man I can't wait until this season starts...

I like more the fact that the middle guys are getting bigger- 244 lbs for both Toryan Smith and Kevin Washington and 235lbs for Mo Crum at the Jack LB. Its one thing to be fast to the corner, but I felt part of the problems were that our ILBs were not able to fight through the linemans blocks to get to the corner. This will give us both increase in size w some of these guys and having the speed of others to get there. We'll see, but I am too very excited to see the improvement.

WWB,
I think big Trev is gonna be great, however he may get redshirted this year because we are developing some solid depth at Guard and there is no reason to waste his eligibility. Stewart is looking like a freakin mountain at LG with Young at RT. Olsen, Turk and Nuss will be fighting for the other spot.
