Okay, this is not about football so if you don't want to read this please click the back button now.

There is a scavenger hunt of sorts on Notre Dame's campus right now. The object is to find a golden medallion that has been hidden. The only clues that we have are three riddles (one has been released every day since monday.) If anybody would like to speculate (Read:reminisce upon your Notre Dame memories/ use those minds of yours to help me win :D) it would be much appreciated. The Clues are as follows.

Monday

So you want the medallion of gold
The money you’re yearning to hold
Your lust will be fed
If you sit next to Ed
And contemplate life in the cold

Tuesday

Well you’re tired of looking at Ed
The words by him staying unread
But don’t give up yet
You’ll find it I bet
Think hard and you’ll get what I said

Wednesday

And now comes the time of frustration
Instead of joyous jubilation
Three threes guide the way
Wait! Two-one-two HEY!
Near him is the medal’s location

I will update this tomorrow with the next clue if it has not already been found. I also do not think the medallion is hidden near Moose Krause's statue.

Dear fellow Domer,

Yes, your post caused me to remember my days on the old stomping grounds... What a riddle! What class did you say was this for? After the USAF game my niece and I (she attends ND) saw a statue of St. Edward by the Moreau seminary across the lake. I only remember because we took some time reading the inscription on it, but I don't know if it has anything to do with number games... Good luck!

This is for Morrisey Hall's annual medallion hunt. The finder of the Medallion wins $300, in which we plan to use it to purchase a new HDTV for our new room in Duncan hall next year. But thank you for that advice, it may turn out to be very helpful. We did not know there was a statue of St. Edward over there.

Its a bust Pham. The statue/inscription has nothing to do with numbers. Plus there is no bench nearby or anywhere to sit next to "Ed"

Sorry Jason, but that statue isn't it. Upon further investigation the statue nor the inscription have anything to do with the riddle.

WEll it is not a call number for any book in the library, plus the Library is named after Father Ted Hesburgh.

You kids still up? Isn't it 2 in the morning on Indiana time? If the statue by the seminary didn't help, I thought I'd mention that the first thing I thought of when I heard "your lust will be FED / if you sit next to Ed" is food. You don't feed lust; that doesn't make linguistic sense; obviously there's a reason for this awkward construction. Isn't there a picture of Sorin in one of the dining halls? I wonder if the medal isn't hidden somewhere around it? I hope this helps.

Here is the clue for Thursday. We already tried the boathouse on the lake.

Thursday:
I tell you you’re hot on the trail
The medal’s where someone would sail
“Bollocks!” you say
“Me find it? No way!”
The fastest tomorrow can’t fail
