This is the key to this in my opinion. The Arkansas AD is the chair. Sankey has him in his back pocket, along with the other biases in the room. Why there is a committee and not the old BCS ranking system is absurd. Yes there are biases amongst the AP and Coaches, but that at least took the average of several polls/metrics.

The extra practices are invaluable.

Use those to our advantage and get guys meaningful reps in the exhibition game.

I cannot even begin to explain how the way our team is treated by people for not being in a conference, often times spewing the same hateful shit that kept ND out of one to begin with, make me ethically and morally against joining any conference. The conferences are evil and at this point only serve to worsen the sport. Joining one would make me sick and would be surrendering to said evil.

And these playoffs are terrible. If this is the crop you pick to play, you clearly don't care about playing the best 12. Not even 12 deserving. They intentionally rigged a system in their favor and tried to sell it as a way to find the true champ.

This is where I’m at. They’re trying to bully us into the move they want us to make. They can’t ignore the numerous datapoints or even Vegas which say that we were a top 5 or so team. They 100% saw them and instead chose to use this opportunity as leverage to get us to move away from independence. They coordinate to push this narrative that conference membership is mandatory for this reason or that reason. Their logic falls flat on most cases.

The (non-ESPN) media failed to scrutinize the fraudulent SEC scheduling model that allowed them to get five teams into the playoff. We've heard so much about "data points" in the past 5 weeks, but the data points do not favor the Oklahomas, Mississippis, and A&Ms when you shine the light of day on their resumes compared to the rest of the P4. Everyone laughed at the ACC the Duke CCG berth. Meanwhile, the SEC had its own 4-way tie that went to the worst team of the bunch, who then got boat raced, but no scrutiny.

These TV contracts that masquerade as conferences stack the deck in their own favor and then collude when the results don't fall their way. Let's see some real change. The 9+1 scheduling model is not enough of a concession. Get rid of the automatic qualifiers. Get rid of the meaningless cashgrab CCGs. Hell, get rid of the bowl games and bring the games back to campuses.

I’m a canes fan, and I believe Miami should be in over both other teams, but the committee should’ve done that last week and avoided additional controversy.

I think the SEC and Big 10 will push for the top 12 or 16 teams to get in regardless of conference champions. It will be in their (and ours) best interest.

A 2 loss ND team not getting in vs a 3 loss Bama team getting in doesn't make sense like discussed. ND loses by a total of 4 points with our 2 loses and Bama loses by 3 TD's last night vs Georgia makes no sense.

Forget ND's revenge tour starting against Wisonsin next year, it should start with whoever we play in a bowl.

Swarbrick is the reason our schedule is what it is and our arrangement with the ACC is what it is.

There's two power conferences (SEC and B1G).

SEC has the CFP advantage between the two because the network that has their TV rights also has the CFP TV rights.

The ACC and Big 12 are the next tier down. Again, the ACC will always have the CFP advantage because of their deal with ESPN.

Then there's another tier down to the Group of 5.

We need to get out of our shitty deal with the ACC.

We have 4 choices:

1) Total independence - increasingly difficult to be able to schedule a good enough schedule.

2) ACC-esque deal with the SEC or B1G.

3) ACC-esque deal with the SEC AND B1G (5 guaranteed games against each plus Navy and Stanford).

4) Full membership in the SEC or B1G.

Half-memberships or partnerships will never work. The deck will be stacked against ND as long as there’s no revenue sharing. Any spot we get takes away revenue from all other teams, the committee will do what they can to avoid that.
