Seems like a playmaker... dont we have an inside track due to his friendship with Golden Tate?

Marlon is now up to 10 offers. They include Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn, Colorado, Clemson, Stanford, Ohio State, then he picked up offer from Texas Tech, Miami, and Notre Dame this week.

He said he is going to try and visit ND this Spring or Summer and his initial reaction to the offer was to thin "wow".

Coach Haywood seemed to make a good impression on Marlon's coach as well. When he stopped by to drop off the papers he ended up sitting around and "shooting the breeze" with Marlon's coach for several hours.

Marlon would also like to play both football and basketball in college.

Holy crap, I just saw this kid's highlight film and I really hope we have a legitimate shot at this guy

This kid is the "#1 get" in my opinion. At 6'5"/205lb., how can any opponent hope to match up with Kamara, Floyd, Walker, Goodman or Brown(pick any of the 3). Clausen/Crist would be frothing at the mouth with this kind of talent.

I agree Brown would be a huge get.

Definately sounds like we have a pretty good shot. If he waits until the season starts and watches how our big receivers do (and they do well) that could help.

I like him as a prospect and hope he ends up Irish, but the main thing I pulled away from that article is that his high school quarterback throws like a girl.

Five-star adds a hoops state title to resume
By Barton Simmons, Recruiting Analyst

Marlon Brown deserves a break. The five-star football practice has earned at least that much. Following his superb junior football season at Memphis (Tenn.) Harding Academy, Brown headed right into his first love but his second sport of basketball. Recently, Brown closed out his junior basketball season with a Tennessee State Championship.

“I’m going to Florida for sure, USC for sure, Georgia, Notre Dame, LSU, Kentucky, Tennessee and Stanford,” he said. “I’ll probably be going weekends in the spring and in the summer time.”

Despite an offer list that is as long as just about any player’s in the country, Brown is not ready to eliminate any school from consideration.

Marlon cut his list down to 15 teams. Not a big shocker, but ND is in the final 15

Corwin was in on alot of offensive recruits last year. His personality is one that connects with all the recruits that he deals with

That's kinda what I was thinking. CB seemed to close alot of deals last year.

There you have it. Thanks, I did not know that, or at least did not remember. Then, go CB, go.

We need to go all out to get this kid and send everyone if necessary. IMO, Marlon is the large, athletic playmaker that excels in Weis' offense.

per Q&A: How are FSU, Georgia and Notre Dame recruiting? - USATODAY.com

Where do you think Marlon Brown ends up? I know he likes Tennessee, USC, Georgia and Notre Dame. But in the end, who gets him?

– Austin from Memphis

I truly believe Tennessee is the team to beat for Brown, a five-star wide receiver from Memphis' Harding Academy. The Vols are the home-state team and they typically don't lose many from their backyard that they really want. And they want this one.

Brown is a potential difference-maker at receiver. Personally, I think he's the top receiving prospect in the nation. Dave Clawson is the new coordinator in Knoxville and he will open up that offense, thereby making it even more enticing for Brown.

If there is a No. 2 for him, it could be Florida. USC, Georgia, Notre Dame and others are close, but it may not matter in the end.

His grandmother will be a big factor in his decision, and she likes the Gators. But she also likes the Vols. In the end, I believe he will be a Tennessee Volunteer.

Tennessee, USC, Florida, Georgia, and Mizzou... Oh. Write this kid off.

Thats fine...He said that he wants to play both football and basketball. One thing for sure is, Mike Brey won't allow it. After listening to his video, and if I was CW... I would take the offer back.

I disagree completely i would take a chance on any kid this talented. A lot of kids who sound good in interviews aren't always as they appear if he wants to play at ND i would welcome him with open arms

He said if he's better at football then he'll stick to football "duh" but he also said if he's better at basketball then he'll stick to basketball. Just sounds weird...... Sure.. If he comes to ND "not likely" he'll be welcomed..
