The game against Navy when Ron Powlus broke his arm and Tom Krug came in and threw a deep pass to Derrick Mayes. It's a play that's always stuck in my mind cause it was the second N.D. game I had been to. I don't know for some reason I can always remember that play.

Quinn to Shark in the UCLA game to with it.

And unfortunetly the '97 WS when the Marlins beat the Indians in the last inning with a base hit up the middle. I still hate the Marlins to this day.

Many notre dame plays stick out, but my earlist childhood memory of a great sports moment was when John Paxson hit the series ending three-pointer with only 3-4 seconds left to win the NBA Championship for the Bulls. I can't recall what year this was. I think they were playing against the Suns.

Unfortunately mine is in a loss to U$C in 2005. It was a great game right up until the Bush Push; but what made it one of my favorites was when the clock went to all zero's my Son who was 13 at the time had tears running down his cheeks......that's when I knew I raised him the right way. ND all the way all the time.

Being inundated here in Idaho, I just cannot coime up with anything that was more exciting than the 07 Fiesta Bowl w BSU completing a 60 yd hook and lateral for a tieing TD w 7 seconds left. Then, during the overtime period, BSU had a 4th down touchdown pass from a halfback to be quickly forgotten with the famous Statue of Liberty 2 point conversion for the win.   :dogpile:

Rick Mirer finding Reggie Brooks in the back of the end zone for the 2 point conversion in the snow vs. Penn St.

As sweet as that win was over bowden & co., I am still pissed off about the following loss over BC. That caused the deep seated hatred in BC I have to this day.

I'm going to wimp out and say I have like a 100-way tie for favorite play. I was at the Shark-UCLA game, FSU and BC in 93 (the whole season for that matter), and so on.

All the same, Petey Bercich with a pick-6 on the first play from scrimmage vs. Northwestern in '93 was quite memorable for me, as it was my first game as an ND student, band-member, and live attendee. In all honesty, growing up in Michigan, it was my first game as an ND fan as well.

Millions of gallons of Kool-Aid later...

the UCLA shark play was pretty incredible! Also, the stanford game hook and ladder play with the INT, even though it was called back. Or the past stanford game when shark went for a TD, but looked back and did a little "come and get me" kind of beckon. He sure knew how to hot-dog it

It was a helluva play, but one reason I would rank other plays higher is because we beat a good team in those other games. (like when we beat FSU in 2002) Coming back against UCLA was cool, but let's face it we shoulda been beating them the whole time.

Has there ever been a more clutch Hook and ladder than the BSU vs Okla in the Fiesta Bowl- 55 yrds (about) on 4th down scored w 7 seconds left in the game. WoW.

Unless you watched it, I don't think some people realize the drama and tenseness of that whole last 2 min and overimes- They had to convert 2 4th down plays on the OT drive- including the halfback option pass to Schoumann for the TD to set up the gutsiest call to go for 2.

After watching, I was shocked they won, they had to be so clutch and perfect to be beat OU that day.

The funny thing is they outplayed w/o trick plays Okla for the 1st 3 quarters. It wasn't until that fumbled punt that let okla back in the game and then when they were having a great f=drive early in the 4th quarter and pounding the ball with about 5 rushes for 40 yards, their LB made a fantastic play to rip the ball loose from Ian Johnson while he was fighting for extra yardage. Then the pick 6 by Z- so it really was 3 errors/turnovers that let it get to that close a game. IMO

Yea. I used to live in Hawaii, so I root for UH and its too bad they couldn't have pulled the upset off against UGA or at least have made it closer.
