Only Downs is as good as Hamilton in that list. I think the problem is they don’t have Anthony Knapps every year, let alone 5 Anthonie Knapps. Almost all the other OLinemen redshirted in his class from GA

Anthonie Knapp is a first round draft pick. It blows my mind the way people talk about him on here.

I’d be shocked if that happened, but he clearly has the trust of the offense. They don’t seem to be as interested in replacing him at LT as message boards do.

Well, I don't wanna come off like that. But you have to see what I mean. It would be like a Pitt fan coming on here and trying to tell us about ND football one way or another. I'm not saying certain people don't know, but I'd be curious if the people that disagree have ever watched a high school football game against two GA powerhouses. I mean, you guys should have...One was just on ESPN to kick off the season.
I definitely understand what your saying in regards to watching the game. You gotta realize that boards are sprinkled with "casuals" who barely watch the game and just "troll" or go against the grain. Most of them certainly don't watch any Prep Football outside of a few local games or a few Youtube highlights during Signing Day.

Man this is just peak offseason banter right here. Good thing there’s no pressing drama with the team.

I love Knapp, he went to my kids high school. The coach I talked to yesterday told me that Knapp use to tell everyone he was a linebacker, he said he absolutely hated being on the OL....but once he bought in "the rest is history"

Ya, I've always been a big HS football fan. I grew up in Pittsburgh and the best WPIAL player I've ever seen was LaVar Arrington (dominated at PSU as a fresh and would have had no problem going up against Ball St. seniors) and I NEVER thought I'd see a HS kid like that again. I was wrong once I moved to GA, it was common to see 18 year old built like men. The other thing that blows me away is my HS in PA sent two kids (Geno Stone & Malik Hooker) to the NFL within a few years of each other...the city went bananas and they still talk about it to this day and maybe big picture that's impressive. But my son moved to GA for high school, and his graduating class alone sent like 7 kids (Malik Willis, X McKinney, and Ty'ron Hopper to name a few) to the NFL and 10 plus to the SEC and Clemson. Multiple kids in one year compared to 2 in 50 years. That's when I knew it was different, that's when I tried explaining to everyone it was different. But unless you see it, it comes off as I'm just a homer talking shit. You get a few kids going to Pitt and everyone can't wait to tune in to the game. Now I go every Friday and watch a gang of kids going to UGA, Clemson, Bama, SC, Aub, Ole Miss, GT and Tenn. Teams that dominate, not just Div 1.

Ball State being the "could get beat by a high school squad" in these hypothetical situations is killing my inner cardinal. How far we have fallen since Brady Hoke. (Won our only MAC title ever during the Covid year so it barely even counts. 😢)

*sad chirp noises*
Feel for ya. Just moved my daughter into her apartment for this semester stones throw from the stadium.

I’m just glad nobody decided to pick on my Sycamores, because it’s quite possible we could get shithoused by a team of the best players from Vermont.

Having a child at ball state is bad enough. The $0 that it costs me is it’s only selling point. But no terre haute was never an option that would have been considered.

Lol. My neighbor has a grandson that’s a Frosh this year on the ISU football team. 3 year DE varsity starter at Center Grove apparently with a couple of 6A rings…can’t be too bad over in Terre Haute these days.

Would that be Letterman Stadium?

Not to rub salt in the wound, but back around '05-'06(?) ISU played (NAIA) St Francis IN. At that time St. Francis was typically playing for the NAIA NC. Score was like 42-10 St Francis.

It was not an every day occurrence, but back when they used to play the College All Stars vs the defending NFL champs for charity, the All Stars won a few. Just looked it up, and in 1963 the College All Stars beat Lombardi's NFL champion Packers, led by Bart Starr and a bunch of All Pros on their roster.
So not beyond the pale of reality that a bunch of 18 yo studs could compete with the likes of Ball State......

You realize it was a totally different game back then. The best college players didn’t always even go pro. They made more money in almost any other industry. It was totally different.

You really think the majority of us haven’t seen 2 top high school teams play outside of the Midwest. You know there is thing called tv and they play the biggest high school football games on cable and even over this thing called the internet. Holy shit your a condescending douche and you don’t even realize it.

Judge for yourselves.

Not the greatest outing. One really bad interception, another where he just put it slightly over the head of his receiver. A few missed throws, but he was getting pressured quite a bit.

McEachern is a pretty solid team. They have four guys committed to P4 programs in the '26 class. Another dude, a '28 safety that is already pushing for five-star status.

Shut out by McEachern, 21-0.
i know he transfered schools to play in a higher class for better competition but wonder if his new team is just bad or this team that beat them 21-0 is one of those powerhouse teams that is a top contends for the state title regularly
