I would respectfully disagree with that poll. Speculation about what may happen is different than if it actually did. The R is so used to being lied to there is zero trust for both media and polls. I look at the Q and ask myself, what does being implicated mean? If involved with these girls and/or engaged in that horrendous activity-everyone would throw him under the bus-including, and I'm assuming, every Rightie on this board.

However, it is all speculation. The Left's batting average with conspiracy theories is zero while across the aisle sits a HoFer.

Sounds like you’re a perfect example of this poll. Asked if he’s implicated and you’re already trying to come up with justifications for how you can still support him.

Also the party of QAnon doesn’t get to criticize anyone else’s “conspiracy theories”. Not that this even requires a conspiracy. What’s already publicly known about Trump’s involvements with Epstein would be enough to sink any other politicians career. But again this is a cult we’re dealing with.

As far as I know, those on IE who sit on the opposite side of the fence than you, Toronto, Colorado, Lifelong, Cack and Warrior have all said if Trump is found guilty of sex trafficking or having sex with a minor, then he should spend the rest of his life rotting in jail. Tell me who is okay with it? That's why my question hasn't been answered.

More to the poll itself, it would have been better to define the question more specifically or provide options. My instinct is many responded like they did simply because of what FBolt pointed out.

Oh, please! Gladiator won’t even answer whether or not Sandy Hook was a hoax. And then you have Diddyup. I think you’d be surprised how much cognitive dissonance occurs on your side. Trump has been a white collar and blue collar criminal since he was a child and none of you guys will admit it.

We've already seen the actual indifference to Trump being convicted of felonies on this very site. Oh, and the indifference to Trump's civil case with E Jean Carroll. We've already see the flailing about WELL THE LEFT WAS QUIET ABOUT SLICK BILL!! Ok well IE wasn't around in the 90's, Bill Clinton is a sex pest creep. You see how easy that is? But you know for a fact that the Trumpers can not and will not say the exact same about their Dear Leader even though the documented proof is greater for him being a sex pest. The usual course of action is for some misdirection of "Well you know both parties are bad! What can we do!" and that will come after silence from the Trumpers about saying anything remotely critical of him.

That’s not true.

Chomsky articulated much of what “populists” from the left and the right are chirping about a long time ago.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that most posters here have not read Manufacturing Consent or Hegemony or Survival.

I think many on the right would agree with most of his conclusions in those books at this point.

Trump is a putz. He knows exactly what he's doing and it isn't good for American Democracy:

- He likely can't get a mid-decade census (it's illegitimacy notwithstanding) and updated redistricting in place in time for the midterm elections but...
- Just like he questioned the legitimacy of US elections from 2020 to 2024 so that when he and his team rigged the swing state 2024 votes electronically, no one (esp. Democrats) would have the stomach to challenge the results
- He is setting up a challenge to the legitimacy of the midterms on the grounds that current districts that include immigrants are not fair
- In the meanwhile, he also has all the government department personal data on US citizens available to him and his team for manipulation
- And he continues to ask for voter registration information in the name of fair elections (yeah, right, he and his team are gonna manipulate that data for sure)
- It sets him up nicely to either:
--- Cheat the midterms like he did with the 2024 election and state, "Democrats, you obviously had a current-districting advantage, reinforced by immigrants who have been included unfairly, and we still beat you!"
--- Or, if he and his team are not able to get away with rigging the vote again (a lot more eyes on them this time!), he'll point to the same unfair, immigrant-included advantage and cry "elections were unfair and we're suing for (insert some stupid New Right legal reason here) and therefore elections are invalid and current congress stays in place until this gets remedied in the courts."
- As we saw with his stupid and unjustified move today of Federal forces taking over policing Washington DC, via his own words today, he's planning to extend this same takeover process, with the same bogus "not safe and too violent" reasoning, to 4-5 other Blue cities (which of course are Democrat voting strongholds) which will lead to 1) voter intimidation and suppression prior to midterms; and 2) keep any opposition protests in check when he announces the above indefinite election delay

Bonus longer-term purpose for a call for a mid-decade. census and redistricting: Typically, the state legislative districts are also re-drawn. so if he is successful with this latest redistricting plan, this could be very helpful to the States desire to hold an Article V Constitutional Convention in the not-too-distant future as soon as at least 34 States call for it (they're up to 28 states already). God help us if Trump and the civil liberties-sucking New Right Christian Nationalists pull this off: The autocratic fate of the country will be sealed for years to come.

Trump and his New Right chumps are dismantling our Democracy, tearing it down piece by piece, one unprecedented step at a time.
