T. Laws was the second strongest DL at the combine today. Performed 35 bench presses to place #2 of all D linemen..... he beat out S. Ellis of USC who pumped out 34. #1 total was 37 reps from a lineman from Ohio State. Tomorrow he'll run the 40 yard dash...

Kiper and Maylock (draft experts) project Laws to be the fourth D lineman picked.... Dorsey (LSU)
and Ellis (USC) could both go by the 5th overall pick.... I think it is then a matter of team needs....
it was interesting to hear how a great Senior Bowl week has elevated his status... also they now gush about his production (total tackles). I wonder where were these people when the voting for the All America teams was held?

Maybe there is hope for Mendoza after all. Other than BQ, most recent ND players have seemed to underperform at the combine.

2nd round to the Cleveland Browns

Unfortunately that's never gonna happen. He doesn't project well to a 3-4 in the NFL (too small, which I don't agree with) but will likely be picked up the first day (likely 2nd round) to play DT in a 4-3.

My gut feeling is that he has enough to overcome the size issue and more than get the job done at NT, but Smith has played very well replacing Washington, and with all the other weaknesses along that front 7, NT will be the least of their worries. They won't even be looking at him.

I do think that there will be a few GMs a couple years from now trying to coordinate simultaneously scratching their head and kicking themselves in the butt for passing on him.

way to go Laws, I would love for the Titans to get him but they don't need anyone on the front.

Really? McKnight did well (fastest time in the shuttle). Walker did as well as he could (great vertical).

I guess I just remember the lineman with mostly low bench reps. No one with great speed either really. DW did have a nice 40 inch vert though.

The combine did hurt their projections... McNight dropped a lot of passes in the recieving drills and there is no question that DW's 40 time hurt him... and there was a lot of chatter about BQ being able to do more reps on the bench than his line...

Where are you guys getting these results....I know there has to be a website somewhere dedicated to this information. I was more interested in Zibby's 40 time!

I also just saw that he is listed at a 4.52 today. That should help him if anything. Along with doing well in the bench.

He is fast not quick. That is why it was easy to drop him on returns for no gains, but when he got his momentum going it was hard to tackle him and or catch him. 40 is more about quickness that speed. But football is more about quickness than speed, which is why it is a good measure. Not often you need to run a straight line 80 yds down the field.

I wonder whether the performance JUSTIN TUCK out in at the Super Bowl may cause some GMs to consider that the ND boys might be gamers, after all...

There are more than a couple successful Domers out there. Scouts know best. The NCAA pundits on College Gameday can blow me.
