Dude, your never going to get it. And that KID you keep speaking of is 21 years old and like 235 pounds, not exactly a little boy anymore. If he gets hurt and never makes millions, you can go cry for him okay. And trust me, someone who has never played the game will never truly understand it compared to someone who has. Not saying you cant be a fan, but you will just never fully understand the intensity of it. So dont lecture me like you know what you are talking about.

But please keep calling your self a genius, and changing the letters of words to make other words, it makes you look real cool:clap:

what the hell are you talking about? just because you played football doesn't mean it's cool for you to wish someone gets hurt. i play baseball, but i'm not going around hoping the team's best pitcher gets a line drive straight to the face so we don't have to face him next time.

well thats good for you steve, maybe you and dizzy can go join a baseball team together. i didnt say it was cool for people to get hurt, but if thats what it takes to win, its fine by me. again, it is pointless to argue with people who probably have never played football in their life.

Unfortunately, if they are pro-capable and spend another year in college, they stand a big risk of getting injured and losing out.

I think ND shows up against them next year. I'm feeling it. Gonna be a whole bunch of ND newborns cuz Trojans gonna get torn.

Funny to read my buddies go after it.

And Steve - I can't help but bust out every time you friggen post. That damn avatar...

Steve,

It's no use. We are trying to argue with an idiot. I'm done with him. You should be too. I'm letting it go because I have better things to do than go back and forth with arguing with her.

Neutered,

Steve's avatar is cracked.

Damn skippy. Don't forget he's the fastest guy on a team of cheetahs. He gets to be THE MAN on a campus with a bunch of tail that would make the Baywatch cast jealous. Livin' the life, you got that right...

if thats what being the man is i really wouldnt want any part of it. i think being the man is much different from that.

we have seen it a number of times where a guy is a guaranteed 1st rounder and gets either exposed or injured after deciding to come back. that is a TON of money to lose. but i also understand the idea of finishing college, although i dont know if that is why either of them are coming back.

UPDATE: According to my sources on the team, Mark Sanchez is reconsidering the NFL now. He is a tossup at this point.

I hardly believe Taylor Mays is going to get exposed. He could not play football at all and still get drafted. His measurables (6 foot 4 and runs a 4.28 40) are too good.

the Legend of Taylor Mays grows and grows......He's listed as 6'3 or 6'2 1/2 and he ran a 4.3 in 2007 but next week the guy will be 6'6 run a 4.0........

Hold on here guys. We're talking all this mess about each other and some guys are wanting him basically crippled and others are talking about Jesus Christ and yada yada yada. But I finally realized there's one thing missing:

THE LINK!!!

Where's the link? Where's the proof? We all just assumed that Taylor and Sanchez were returning, without asking for proof, which we normally do. I myself bought it, and I friggin' live out here. I haven't heard one word about Mays returning. Not one word. And all I listen to is sports radio. In the afternoon it's all local talk. I'm not saying Purplegrapes is wrong, but we shouldn't take it as Gospel because he said so.

Here's what I have heard, from Sanchez's mouth on an interview just last week (the day before this thread started): He's not decided. He sees the pros and cons of both. The feeling from people here is that he's returning, because he only had one year of experience and people feel he needs more experience. Plus he has a strong family structure and they don't need the $$ (and he's very close to Arkansas transfer WR Williams, who's coming back). I see him returning, but I don't for sure at all.

What I don't hear about it Mays and his decision. Believe me, if he were coming back, it'd be HUGE news around here. H-U-G-E. Haven't heard a thing. So let's just wait until we hear the news in a press conference or from Mel Kiper until we start hoping for guys being decapitated or whatever...

I already updated that Sanchez is reconsidering. I have a source on the team who keeps me updated on USC from time to time. Taylor Mays is returning.

If it was official news, there'd be no point in providing this information.

Regarding the "cripple" thought, here's another viewpoint:

As an athlete, it was my desire to hit a guy so hard that his body exploded. I played lacrosse too, and actually got removed from a game for hitting a guy too hard. I think the guy flew about 4 yards. Last time I dreamed about that hit, I woke up moist :)

During my brief (I think successful) stint as a coach, all I wanted was proper aggressive technique and disciplined play. As a fan, when I anticipate an injury or when TV is going to show replays of an injury, I have to turn my head. To this day I have NEVER watched an injury replay. I hate watching linemen standing around not knowing who to block, then get rolled up from behind. That's one thing about Holtz's lines that I noticed - they were always charging forward and putting a hat on someone. When I see an injury on TV, it's as if I can feel my own body relive the pain.

I say take your shot to go pro as soon as you get it. Probably not many of us on this forum have a chance anymore (if ever) to go pro, but every single one of us can still go back to college. The window of opportunity is small for football athletes. I think the "graduated in 4 years" stat is overrated.

Watched some TM highlights on youtube cuz of this thread. Guy is a beast. I have always said that football teams should use tall athletes at DB. Videos led me to this: (Don't watch if you have a weak stomach...)

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FNFFNzEIwcc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FNFFNzEIwcc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I agree with neutered, i do like the idea of getting a degree, which at USC he might as well have a degree in underwater basket weaving, but who cares. Makes millions guaranteed, or take your chances and possibly lose millions. Go back and get your degree in the NFL offseason or something. Especially if you are that good and that cocky, you def take a risk of getting injured. Didnt get to watch the video sadly (damn dial up to hell), but i have seen some nasty ones in my day.

Speaking of nasty injuries, remember when OSU actually won the national championship in 03, and McGahee (Miami RB) blew his knee out? They replayed that damn thing like 7 times, his ankle looked like it was beside his head. Worst i have ever seen. But then again, i didnt get to look at Neutered's example. Knowing neutered, it will be a good one when i get to watch it.

I also think NDinLA makes a great point, if theres no link, theres no real proof IMO. I dont like hearing about "inside sources" from people anymore. Inside sources have pissed me off more than anything on this blogs for the most part.

Somebody asked me today, a friend not on irishenvy said, why the hell do you guys talk about other players on other teams, I was like well, we like to know what's going on with the teams we will play in the future. I started to think about it, if there is no proof, and he isn't on our team, why the hell are we talking about it.

Though, I will say again, I have a man crush on Mays and he's a badass. Fo get a bout it!

My hats off to you Purplegrapes, you were right. Here's the link I was (not) waiting for:

USC safety Taylor Mays will return for senior season - NCAA Football - Bowls - 2008 - SI.com

Mother_____er.

Floyd and Tate, keep your head on a swivel in October. Dude is a cheetah in lion's clothing.

I can't see Sanchez leaving for the NFL yet, but God I hope he does!

Oh, and CJ Gable announced he's returning to school too. Thanks CJ, the NFL was on pins and needles waiting for your decision. In related news, Robby Parris and George West announced they'd be putting the NFL on hold and coming back for another year at ND...

He's already declared but he can withdraw anytime he wants.

His family is telling him to stay... it's still 50/50

Biggest draft prediction whiff of my life. I was certain he was destined for Canton.
