This thread was inevitable w/ Brady on the cusp of history. To pick one is tough b/c of the different eras involved. I'm guessing most of us will be biased towards Joe Cool, but what better QB to have to argue for. My list is as follows & is purely subjective:
1. Joe Montana: 4 SB victories. 3 SB MVPs. Voted most clutch QB of all-time by SI.
Through this past season, he's had far better avg. stats/season than Brady. Came
back from career threatening injuries (elbow, back) to lead team to SB victory.

2. Johnny Unitas: 2 NFL World Champ., 1 SB victory. One of the most prolific QBs of all
time. Epitomized the perfect NFL QB for decades.

3. Tom Brady: on the verge of his 4th SB victory. Similar to Montana in his coolness
under pressure. Also on the verge of leading his team to a perfect 19-0 record.
His season avg. stats have been pretty average until this year. Until his record-
breaking 50 TD passes, his best season total was 28 (done twice). He's only 30, so
he could easily finish as the greatest of all time.
4. Dan Marino: the only thing he lacked was a Super Bowl victory. His numbers speak
for themselves.

5. Bart Starr: 5 NFL titles + victories in the first 2 SB. Part of one of the most
memorable squads of all time that was led by one of the greatest coaches of all
time. Based on world titles alone (7), he is unmatched.

6. Terry Bradshaw: 4 Super Bowl victories. Played on arguably one of the greatest
teams of all time. Like Starr, he's usually overlooked b/c of all the HOFers he
played with.

Others worthy of being thrown in the mix: Brett Favre, Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, Fran Tarkenton, Joe Namath, John Elway, Y.A. Tittle, Otto Graham, etc.
I imagine no two posts will be identical, but that's what makes it interesting.
