My son's first ND Game......

My son David got his angel wings early this morning and completed his journey here on Earth.

We have lost one of our biggest ND fans but I know he will be watching and cheering for his beloved Irish from above.

I first saw this thread the other night and I read through the articles and the pictures. I really didn't know what to say; I was heartbroken. I wanted to tell you though that your son has been in my thoughts the last few days and that I've prayed for him. If it's of any solace, you know that he's in a better place now.

Rick, I am so sorry for loss. As the father of four I can't even begin to imagine the pain your family is in right now. Please know that you and your family are in my families thoughts and prayers.

Lord God, source and destiny of our lives, in Your loving providence You gave us David to grow in wisdom, age, and grace. Now You have called him to Yourself. We grieve over the loss of one so young and struggle to understand Your purpose. Draw him to Yourself and give him full stature in Christ. May he stand with all the angels and saints, who know Your love and praise Your saving will. Amen.

My family and I are so overwhelmed by all of the kind words of sympathy from everyone. Thank you all for caring about us. Our angel has touched so many lives even those who didn't even know him. We are trying to get through each moment of each day the best way we can. I know we will be ok but it will take some time.

On the day David was laid to rest, family and friends dressed in their Irish best and David was buried in his favorite Notre Dame Shirt. Coach Weis sent a beautiful floral arrangement from him and the football staff as did the Notre Dame Fire Department. Father Jenkins sent his condolences and dedicated a Mass to David.

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart. You are all so wonderful. THAT is why we love Notre Dame. The fans are one of a kind. The ND Nation has grown alot bigger and stronger because of David.
