Tiller's Heir Apparent

It appears Danny Hope may be in as Joe Tiller's eventual replacement as Purdue's football coach. Hope, who was Tiller's offensive line coach his first five years at Purdue, from 1997-2001. Hope has been the head coach at Eastern Kentucky, a Division I-AA school, the past five seasons.

Not giving you attitude or anything, but why does it matter? Why does Purdue matter?

Now that ND is getting "restocked" w/ very good talent, I foresee Purdue being a perennial "whippin' boy", just like the years before Tiller got there. Tiller put "some" fire into the Purdue squads, but the ND loses came more from ND having lesser talent levels than they used to have during those prior years when Lou was at his best. Plus, having Davie and dumbass Ty as coached didn't help ND's cause any either.

The school wants to name an associate head coach to coach along side of Tiller for a year and then take over the following year...this is not Tiller's decision...what the heck are they thinking and how can that be good for the team?

How old is Tiller? It doesn't seem as if he's planning on retiring any time soon. Maybe the school is trying to push him out. Big mistake if you ask me. He's a pretty good coach.

Pretty dumb if you ask me. Obviously, I'm not a Purdue fan, but this guy can coach.

This is the same way Purdue handled their basketball team. They brought in Painter for a year to coach under Gene "The Missing Link" Keady. I think it is their new way of firing an old coach.

Danny Hope is a real good guy. He'ss semi local, and have heard nothing bad about the guy. He must be a good coach too becasue he brought success to EKU, although that's a big jump to go to Purdue from EKU. I'll go out on a limb though and assume Tiller doesn't embrace Danny, unless this was his idea.
