'09 CT TE Jake Golic (ND Verbal 4/5/08)

---I beg to differ about Golic not being elite. Do you know many TE's already in the '09 class that are studs? I haven't heard of one you're just assuming that because it's a Golic and a legacy. It's been widely thought of that Jake is the better ath. and may have the better future in football than that of Mike. One thing is for certain though with that family they will work their asses off for ND football and I don't see us taking anybody next year but Jake. We most likely will not take 2 next year even if and yes it's a big IF because one website speculated it and there's nothing to back it up. Weis has said he will use a pattern of 2-1-2-1-2 when taking TE's year to year. Just because Yeatman stops playing doesn't mean Charlie wants to overstock and take 4 TE's in 2 years. Especially if Fauria redshirts which is a good possibility because he needs to bulk up. I'll be more than happy to take Jake the Snake next year.

Well done. Top drawer, top drawer.

I couldn't agree any more. Well said, I'd rep it but I can't... unless you want to pay for my unlimited reps privilege??? LOL, jk.

----That's like me having a blog saying that. I've heard it nowhere else and don't beleive it to be true until I see it.

Agreed. The same goes in spades for their claim that Clausen is starting. I don't know of any track record that they have, either.

This is from a recent USA Today article about Mike Jr.

That talent might eventually even include Mike's younger brother Jake, who is a junior tight end and linebacker-defensive end for Northwest. Jake, 6-5, 212, has received interest from Ohio State, Florida, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Iowa and Stanford.

When Mike Jr. plays in the Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 5 in San Antonio's Alamodome, Jake also will be there that week because he was invited to the game's combine.

This morning on Mike & Mike Golic talked about his sons' recruitment and he also added a few more schools to the list besides the ones mentioned here. He also brought up Florida St., Oregon, and several others.

Isn't Fauria already really big. Rivals had him listed as a takcle, but they still listed him as having the best hands.

We need to take the best TE in the class like usual...not the TE with the most familiar last name. Kid needs to bulk up A LOT to play TE at ND!!!!

He needs to get his drivers license first. He's still a baby, give him a chance.

I hope he grows to be 7 foot, because with all the 6-7 6-8 guys we have, need a 7-foot tightend.

Maybe you should watch some video of him before you post about him. He has unbelievable hands and great body control. You don't get looked at by the premier teams in the counrty if you are not premier yourself.

Ooooh. A seven footer would be great on the field goal block team. Just tell him to jump.

But think about how many roughing the kicker calls you could draw with that kind of leg extension.

Just watched a highlight film of Jake Golic and this kid appears to be the real deal. He plays with aggressiveness and has great speed for a TE. He will need to add some weight prior to ND, but he is only a Junior so time is on his side. This kid blocks with a nasty attitude. I never want Charlie to take a guy just because his family is ND alum, but this kid looks solid. I really think he has the tools. Go Golic Family!!!

Let's give props to the entire Golic family. They have been everything we expected and even more. Once again they came through for the ND family last night when they picked up Gerell from the airport as he arrived in San Antonio. Please give Gallup21 credit for this info.

Nice work, Gallup21:thx:

If this kid is anything but Irish, it will be a bigger upset than App. St. over scUM.:werd:

anyway he plays in the slot like Robby Parris rather than a true tightend position?

Rivals has an article saying that Golic just picked up his first offer. I can't get into the article so I was wondering if anyone knows who it was that offered?
