This looks like it may come down to a ND/minnesota battle for TyQuan's services. ND will have the advantage in that they're actually the "hometown U" here, and TyQuan has already camped at ND as well as being good friends with '08 ND commit John Goodman.

However, and this is a big one. His brother is on the staff at Minnesota and he is also his recruiter.

I've seen far, far worse. Over the last several years I've seen a kid from Tenn. that was named Precious Valentine, and one from Maryland named Iam Perfection. Apparently both moms thought they would be cute names to go with their last names. Then there's been a couple of guys from Texas recently with run-on names that would rival many race horses. When see things like that, or celebrity names like Apple and such. TyQuan seems quite ordinary.

The only reason I might have a problem with it is that if he chooses ND then every time they start to say his name it'll bring back bad flashbacks of some other guy name Ty. Just becasue you wouldn't choose it as a name, that doesn't mean there's something wrong with it.

This isn't even a joke. My dad is a teacher and they named a kid A**hole. Pronounced
Ah Show Lay. He also has taught Oranjejello and Lemonjello which as you can see is Oragne Jello and Lemon Jello but pronounced Or On Jello and Leh Mon Jello. I could keep going, but you get the point.

We can call him "Quan", like in Jerry McGuire!!

BTW, Nosmo King was originally a character in a porno...so I heard.

TyQuan will be comming to ND this Saturday on an unofficial visit to watch the Irish take on BC. He was at IU last week to watch them play Minnesota, and at Purdue the week before that to see them play ND.

I am sorry but I can't resist hijacking this thread for one more. My friend works with kids who come from broken homes. She had a student who's name was Sh!thead. They pronounced it Sh/i/ theed. Some people are just plain stupid.

Added this young man to the group we have coming in. The def. is going to be nasty in the not so far away future. Offer this kid and get a commit. Also Charlie and the staff need to lock down the state if Indy. If a young man is good enough, no school should be aloud to get him to leave the state.

It would be nice if ND can get guys on defense that can lay the wood like that.

I have seen this kid play at Bishop Luers since his freshman year. He is a very talented football player and quality athlete. I am pretty close to the program and will try to find out what I can.

Nice to see not one but 2 fellow Irish fans from the Summit City, I graduated from Bishop Luers in '85 and coached there 8 years after college under the present Luers head coach. I still remain close to the program without being intrusive to this day. I will pass on any info that won't hurt our or his standing when I get any.
