I bet they would have a winning record in the big ten. This team is too good for D1AA. 3 straight NCs, Congrats.

Hahaha I actually was going to post something about their coach before, so here goes:

People that prove they can win at the D1AA level should be considered prime candidates, and I don't understand how they are ignored. Tressel was an afterthought despite HUGE success at Youngstown State. Paul Johnson was a stellar coach at Georgia Southern and guess what? Now he is tearing it up in D1A - I bet he makes Georgia Tech a serious contender. So why does everyone ignore App State's coach? If I were scUM he would be on the top of my list - he already demonstrated he is a much better coach than the guy you held on to for about 13 years.... People need to wake up and realize that these guys are legit - if someone in D1A won the NC three years running, you think they would be a hot commodity? Hell, Les Miles is and he hasn't won a single one yet.

Ok rant over.

I was beginning to think I was the only one who watched FCS, Div II, and Div. III football.

I love college football!

I watched the game last night and I have no doubt in my mind that App State could easily compete in the big east and big televen.

I don't think their stadium is big enough. I know that sounds weird but there is actually guidelines as to how many seats your stadium can hold before you can become D1

That's what YSU did just in case they wanted to make the leap

I've been to the App State campus. You could almost throw a stone across that campus. It's a very small school. But, I agree. They have the talent to compete with anyone. I'm glad ND didn't play them this year. They would have won.

I think they're trying to keep a low profile for fear of being discovered about their mascot trademark infringement.

My daughter graduated from ND this May, and my son is a senior baseball player at App State....I have been to both campuses many times...from a facilities standpoint App State can not compet with big D1 programs...They are adding 5000 seats to their football stadium which is a big deal in boone...They have started a 32 million dollar upgrade to all of their sports facilities (with these last three national championship's donors are lining up) but this would be small potatoes at ND...Coach Moore has commented in the past about going to D1 and they understand it is better to be a big fish in a small pond verus a small fish in a big lake...they are in a perfect situation...money is flowing in....applacations are way up (14,000 students)...and from a football standpoint, they are getting SEC quality tranfers who can not win stating jobs example LSU...the great thing about the football teams success is for example the baseball team is getting a brand new 2000 seat facility...everybody wins....

I was at the Championship game.

Im still pissed at the refs.

App State is good though. Armanti Edwards should be making some heads turn in his junior and senior seasons!
