A Stupid Request

Dear Fellow Domers,

We have a couple of sports talk show hosts here in Omaha who never miss an opportunity to bash Notre Dame. They are putting together a fake bowl between Nebraska and another team who did not make a bowl. They are leaving it up to the listeners to pick an opponent among 8 different teams. They are pushing Notre Dame so they can trash the Irish for the next few weeks until their mythical bowl game takes place. Right now it is between Pitt (because Steve Pederson is there now) and Notre Dame. PLEASE, PLEASE contact the following e-mail address and vote for Pitt. I don't know if I can handle them calling Charlie "front butt", Notre Dame racist, or continually claiming the Irish are unethical during the upcoming weeks. You must vote before 5:30 today. Thank you!!

Just sent them mine. Told them I voted for pitt. Because we (meaning Neb) couldn't beat N.D. even in their worst yr. in history. Hope that helps.

Hey Ortho,

I too live here in Omaha and listen to those knuckleheads. Yeah, I understand I could also quit listening to them, but typically it's a pretty good show. I don't know how often you listen to these guys, but they are so contradictory at times when discussing ND. Recently, they were talking about NDs inability to recruit under Charlie Weis...just ripping on him. The very next guest was the dude from Rivals who clarified ND was still the #1 class for '08 and NU was sinking fast. I came to understand that the point of a local sports talk radio show like theirs, isn't to present facts and debate but rather to stir the pot and let the calls come in.

711...couldn't agree more. What bothers me the most is the outright lies they've told about Notre Dame.
