What's Your College vs Pro Preference Ratio? (plus small rant)

I’m bummed out that the college season is over already. I dunno, maybe it’s because the Redskins have stunk for 13 years. But the older I get, the more I prefer the college game. The atmosphere, the energy of the kids, the rivalries. I mean App State vs Richmond on Friday was a great game. I’ll watch pros for sure, especially for the athleticism of the players. But right now my:

College/Pro Preference Ratio: 70/30 College

Yours?

Small Rant: Last weekend were the closeout games of the season plus the conference championships. There were all kinds of television overlaps. So matter what you tried to watch, you were missing something else you wanted to watch. The obvious solution is to move the conference championship games to the weekend after the closeout games. Or is that too simple?

Pro sucks. I dont really follow pro because most of them are whiny bastards who dont think they get paid enough. College 100% Atmosphere, Campus, Nobody is getting paid (Unless they play for Usc). I will always watch college over pro. I have watched 2 pro games this whole year.

I'm probably 90/10 college. I really hate pro sports.

College = 95%
Pro = 5%

I don't have a favorite pro team. There's certain players I like (all of the ex-ND players).

I can't get enough college football. FBS, FCS, Div II, Div III, ... I'll watch 'em all. College football is a lot more exciting than pro.

I can't wait until the FCS championship game on Friday!

I'd propably go 75-25 college. I love saturday afternoons during the season. Get up and get everything that can possibly disturb me out of the way. Make sure I've got enough beer, and snacks ( that changes wk. to wk.). Then sit back with the remote and watch games all day long.

ND football changed my sports watching life, as before 1993, I would say I was 0% any football, 50% listening to Ernie Harwell on the radio doing Detroit Tigers games, and 50% George Blaha and the Pistons telecasts.

Now, 80% college, and 20% NFL, with 15% of that pro percentage a result of playing in fantasy leagues. If I manage to get free tickets for a game in the city I live in, I'll check it out and have a good time. Baseball has left my sports lexicon.

But nothing matches college football gameday.

Nothing matches college sports. Pro football is fine on Sundays, but I look forward to football Saturdays more than anything. The hoops tourney (road to the final four) is awesome, and a close second.

I watch about 9-10 hours of college football a week.

I watch 1-2 hours of NFL.

The ONLY thing the NFL has over college in my opinion is the playoffs.

I used to not watch pro football, but my brother suckered me into a fantasy league so I spend my time "watching" NFL by looking at refreshing boxscores a couple times on sundays.

Maybe I'll watch a sunday night or monday night game, but there is something about daytime NFL football that is boring. College 90%.

by they way, i went with stoneys suggestion, Adrian Peterson in all my leagues.

Wow, that gamble paid off. Best player in the league in the 7-8th round.

I'm about 70/30 for the college game.
I still really enjoy pro football though and love watching the Browns play on Sunday, but the pro game does leave a lot to be desired. College football rules.

Now if we were talking hockey, I would say 95/5 in favor of NCAA hockey. The NHL is an absolute joke and has been for a very long time. You want to talk about a league that is clueless when it comes to the American fan base, Gary Bettman and the NHL is the epitome of clueless.... but that's a whole other topic.

I'm probably 90/10 in favor of college unless I can watch the Jags, then it's probably more like 70/30.

Yeah the lions always seem to grab defeat out of the jaws of victory! Same old lions. Worst sports organization EVER! Get ready for William Clay Ford to give Millen another contract extension. Get used to being losers. They will never amount to anything.

I prefer college football over NFL, 95% to 5%.

I do like to keep up w/ ND Alums in the League & this year have caught myself mesmerized by the domination of the Patriots...especial their offense.

I keep up with both, but find college much more interesting. Maybe 80-20 college, with much of the pro being keeping up with the fantasy football leagues I'm in.

Took the words right out of my mouth! College kids play for their school and fans, pro plays for their next multi-million dolla contract.

Since I only follow Notre Dame in Football and St John's in basketball. I has to say I'm a pro football guy.
