I don't follow hockey. Does this sound good?

I can get discounted tickets to this event in Tampa and was thinking about giving them to my son who loves hockey and will be down there during this time. Is ND any good in hockey? What about the other teams? Would it be a good tournament to watch?

"The St. Pete Times Forum will play host to a four-team NCAA Division I hockey tournament, The second annual Lightning College Hockey Classic, on Saturday, December 29 and Sunday, December 30. The inaugural tournament features Notre Dame, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the University of Massachusetts, and Colorado College."

Who cares, if he's a fan of N.D. he will enjoy watching them play.

They are ranked 11 in the Nation so I would say they are pretty good.

if he loves hockey, he'll enjoy watching any D1 team play. i've never been to a D1 game before. the D3 team here is pretty good, but i can't imagine it's anything like a D1 game. ND being in the tournament is just icing on the cake to me.

You know, I'm not a big follower of Hockey either being from the south but I was kinda wondering what the hell Miami's hockey team was doing #1! Thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks, if all four teams are ranked it would probably be a great time. I went to several IU basketball games during past Holiday Hoosier Classics and the match ups weren't that great so I wanted to avoid getting tickets to games that end up being blowouts.

I have seen exactly three hockey games in my life.

The 1980 Men's Olympic team games against the Soviet Union and that other team (on tv)

my son played once as a fill in. His buddy's team's goalkeeper got sick and they recruited my son since hey, he plays goalkeeper in soccer.

yeah, hockey is awesome in person. i love it.
