Breaking News First reported by Pigskin Football Guys

Take a look at this information I received from an unnamed source close to LSU's situation:

1. Bo Pelini - hired as Nebraska's new football coach and will be announced either this afternoon or tomorrow. Will not coach in the SEC Championship game.

2. Jon Tenuta, GA Tech's D Coordinator will be hired as LSU's new Defensive Coordinator making somewhere around $600,000 a year.

3. Les Miles - Has accepted the Michigan head coaching job and will announce this sometime Sunday or Monday after the SEC Championship game.

4. LSU is in talks with Steve Spurrier about their upcoming head coaching vacancy

holy moly. Why why why do these SEC schools trust any coach with SEC experience on his resume? Saban said he wasn't leaving LSU, then left, and did the same thing to Miami befor he left for Bama. Spurrier's been at USC for two years? Les has been at LSU for 2 years and both are leaving? Why would anyone hire any of these guys and believe they will actual unpack their moving boxes?

Anyone else seeing a trend at the big SEC schools?

I've also heard that there is a chance that Raiders coach Lane Kiffen might be going to Arkansas and if he did there is a very good cahnce that he would take Ed Orgeron with him as his DC and Recruiting Cord.

You can't blame anyone of these guys for leaving IMO. Miles is basically going home to help his alma mater. Pellini well its a move up to his own team. For Tenuta its a clear upgrade in program prestige. And for Spurrier well USC is a stepping stone program at best, he knows it won't win national titles their why wouldn't he move. Can't blame any of 'em really.

I wasn't blaming the coaches for wanting to move up. It is the SEC schools who seem to desire coaches that are only likely to make a 1-2-3 year commitment at best, despite signing a multi year contract.

It's like a woman/man who seems to have a thing for guys/gals who have been married and divorced several times. Oh and he's/she's currently married now and cheating on his/her spouse with you. Ya, that's gonna last long.

I get what your saying now...only thing I can really equate this to is the HC in basketball taking the one and done kid out of HS( see: Thad Matta/Greg Oden). You know he's pretty much only there for a year but you have to take the chance that he can win you a title while he's there.

Good point as to players. Better than letting someone else get him and have them beat you. I guess the SEC schools think, even if we only have the coach one year, maybe we can win one with him.

Exactly. Plus in Spurriers case (if he leaves) you hope that he has recruited well enough to allow the next guy to take that next step.

Baylor filled ther job with Houston's HC, and word is out that UCLa will be looking for a new HC unless they beat USC this weekend. There's also growing rumors that Ty may be out at Washington, especially if he's beaten badly by Hawaii.

On UCLA, Dorrell said something in the local press that sort of implied that race was an issue in his job performance. He quickly "clarified" what he meant. So we'll see if the
potential firings of Ty and Dorrell spark the same racism claims that were thrown at ND.

(Note: it is not my intent to start a racism in college football hiring/firing debate, just giving out info that it happened.)

They are already screaming racism at Texas A&M. Because no black coaches were interviewed... I mean if they found the guy they wanted with the first interview, what the heck is the point wasting everyone elses time?

I've heard that he is not a serious candidate, and it is probably a plan C for UN. It also puts pressure on their real target (s).
I honestly don't see Nebraska continuing w/ a spread option. They want to go back to their 'roots'.

Aren't they running the West Coast, not the Spread?

Seems ridiculous to me that a coach's job comes down to one game. Dorrell beat USC last year, so what would beating them this year prove? Either you want to give the guy another year or not, but another game is lame in my view.

Well, word is that Nutt would have been fired if he'd lost to LSU, but after they won they offered him a 2 year extention.
