Just seeing if anyone out there has played the game on Xbox. We're thinking about getting the game for our child.

I want to play it really bad. I bet you I'll freaking rock on the "drums". I should since I've been playing the real drums for 12 years.

They reviewed it on X-Play the other day and it looked pretty cool. They gave it 5 stars.

Same here, just the drums. I've only been playing for about 1 1/2 to 2, though.

Just wait untill you get good enough that you can play standing up, or play with one hand because you sent one of your sticks flying and there aren't any more right next to you so you have to get on floor to grab it but still keep playing at the same time, or even keep a beat while nodding off to sleep.

I have quite a few other interesting drum stories too.

i heard that playing the game will actually teach you how to play drums. any truth to that?

I started to learn to play the piano too, but I never really kept at it although from what everyone tells me I should have because I have a really good ear for it, and my big hands would be a plus there as well.

I have a friend that can pretty much learn any instrument he wants in a week or two, he's just that good. Right now he can play the Bass, Drums, Piano, lead and rhythm guitar, the trumpet, and last I knew he was going to try to learn the flute but if it took him more that a week or two he wasn't going to mess with it. That's the guy should should really see play Guitar Hero he tears it up on expert, although somtimes he'll complain that the song is harder to play on Guitar Hero than it is on a real guitar.

For instance he's so musically talented that he listened to a song in a movie and then went over and sat down at the piano, which he rarely plays and played the song on his first try and only missed one note, and then of course he was annoyed at himself for missing the one note.

I've never played it so I don't know for sure, but I highly doubt it. If you notice the drum kit only has four pads lined up in a semi circle, and it's completely missing a high hat and it's pedal. So it's not how you'd set up a real kit, and it's missing some typical pieces, but it probably would teach you how to keep a beat, and when it's the correct time to perform a roll.

Happens all the fricken time, especially when I play on someone else's set. The worst is breaking sticks mid-song. One time I hit a crash cymbal, which came flying off the stand towards a little girl who suffered from a disease that made her very fragile. Luckily it didn't hit her, but I was as scared as scared can be.

Do you play with a group? Pretty nice set. I really like DW/Pacific stuff. I have a Tama, the drums are fine but the cymbals aren't the best, so I'm half saving up for a really nice set. I got to play on $6,000 of Zildjian cymbals for a semester, and I kinda fell in love.

im pretty sure it can semi teach u the drums on a basic style set cuz the green pad is high hat if i remember right when playing. The pedal at the bottom of the set up however is for the thing that hits the big drum at the bottom..... i know im butchering the names...hahah

BTW, I played the game at my cousins at this game soared to the top of my X-mas list.....very fun

I played it last night at Walmart. I needed something to do while my fiance found Christmas stuff. It is alot of fun and not real easy. I have never played the drums or any other instrument but did find it fun. I think it would be a good buy. Had some great 90's songs on it.

The best thing to do is get a stick case and hang it from your floor tom, or have it laying on the floor next to your right foot. As far as breaking stuff goes I used to be notorious for it. I broke sticks all the time, usually on the ride or splash, snare and bass heads. Although I haven't broken a snare head in a really long time, and I haven't cracked a bass head since I started using a kevlar patch on the head where the mallet lands. As far as stick go one of the reasons they broke so much was because of what size they were and what material they were made out of, and how they hit the cymbals. First of all I allways go with wood if I can because I think they sound the best, and I generally perfer 7As on fast songs, and then 5A on the slower songs. I think the 5's give you a better wood block sound on the snare rim. However the last time I went to get sticks I was looking them over and debating the size because of how often I break them and the guy suggest that I try Vater Fusions sticks. He said they were designed to be more resistant to breaking and that he had had his pair for a long time. So I went ahead and tried them and I really like them. I'd perfer it if the end was completely rounded off but I got used to it not being that way, they are pretty much the same size as 5As, so they're not to big which is a good thing becasue I detest huge sticks and I still have my first set and they're holding up really well. Here's a pic of them, only the first pic has wooden tips, something else that I don't like. I always go with nylon tips. I think they sound better on the cymbals especially the splash and ride.

I play at church, for choir, and at my friends house when were're just messing around and having fun jamming.

The nicest set I've ever been around was a custom DW kit, and then he had a reall nice cybals pack to go along with it. Last I knew he had over $20,000 in the set.

I saw some kids, around 9 or 10 years old, playing this in Wal-Mart and not only did they look like they were having a blast, they sounded good too.

We got the boys Guitar Hero last Christmas and the entire family was playing it the whole holiday, even my dad

so I bet Stoney-Daddy has just as much fun with it

I don't know how old the kids are but to me the most enjoyable xbox stuff is

Guitar hero (played it twice and its still my favorite of any game, ever)
Halo (any of them, they are all very entertaining)
Gears of war (if your kids are old enough to think chainsaws can be...fun)
