Some candidates...

Trevor Laws
John Carlson
David Bruton
Sam Young
Maurice Crum
Armando Allen
Jimmy Clausen
Mike Anello
James Aldredge
Zibby
Robert Hughes

Personally, I'm going with:

1) Laws
2) Crum
3) Anello
4) Bruton
5) Carlson

I've gotta say its Laws. Absolutely dominant all year long. He has been the only player that was consistant from start to finish.

Trevor Laws and it isn't even close. The only other one that really should be in the argument is Crum.

1. Trevor Laws
2. Laws, Trevor
3. Big Trev
4. The Long-haired Arm of the Law
5. T-Bone

Other than that, I'd put Kuntz, Bruton, and Walls ahead of Crum on defense ... sorry, I can't think of anyone on the offensive end who's actually played well enough, and with enough consistency, to be considered a potential PoY.

This is a no-brainer...Laws in a landslide. No one on offense is worthy of any consideration

I am going with Clifford Jefferson!!!!! I still remember all his stellar plays. My brother and I decided that the only reason he had number 15 way back then was because every time his name was called, he was being assessed another 15 Pass Interference penalty.

it seems like whoever wears#15 in the secondary for nd since 1997,is a pretty bad db-rossum,great kr-bad db,jefferson-enough said,jackson-bad, and ferrine-when he plays he gets burnt.i think rossum's nickname was toast at nd?

I know this doesn't really make him a stellar player but Ferrine had a nice breakup in the endzone - danny mccarthy has #15, so I hope he either doesn't carry the number over or he makes it into something special.

No love for Goeff Price, player of the game for USC?

He'd be my 2nd place behind Laws. He had some bone head plays but a good season overall. I think we'll miss him next year almost as much as we'll miss Laws.

Maust has played pretty well the past couple of weeks ...

Laws, undeniably. But give Aldridge some reps for running behind a line that was discombobulated most of the season. And Bruton or Crum could be next year's winner.
