I like what Faust said "The crucifixion has to come before the resurrection." Like it or not, that's just the way it is!

I hadn't heard any of the Weis is rude to locals rumors...have any of you heard much of this?

Also, I love how people who haven't met him and don't know whats going on in the offices and locker room are able to comment on how bad he is at coaching these kids...were they saying that in '05 and '06?

I wish CW would let some of the former players to come back and talk to the team. I think that would have help alot this year with some of guys that left and it shows the team how much it means to play for ND, and the past players feel just as much a part of the team now as they did when they were playing.

charlie has former players come in all the time. some interact with the team more than others but most of the players that speak as guests of honor at the pep rallies are able to mingle with the team and speak to them behind the scenes.

Actually, I thought that was what he was striving for originally...I mean he had Montana, Brown, rocket, and a bunch of others...has he not wanted them to come around anymore?

I'm not local so I can't answer this directly. But last night I tuned into the webcast of Irish Eyes' Power Hour, and a caller asked about Weis personality and how he is being portrayed in the media. The shows' host mentioned he heard an unconfirmed report that when someone in the community lost his wife to cancer, someone had food sent to the house anonymously. When the deliver person was pressed for info, the person he described fit CW's appearance. He said he's heard other stories like that.

So the negative rumors could be true, the positive rumors could be true. At the end of the day, they're rumors. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if he acted rudely once or twice. I know after a tough work day I am probably not the most pleasant customer in the grocery store.

Also, I love how people who haven't met him and don't know whats going on in the offices and locker room are able to comment on how bad he is at coaching these kids...were they saying that in '05 and '06?

This was another issued raised on the show, and the obvious answer is no, when things were going well, there rarely is room for people to rock the boat. Good point.

I think alot of this comes from the fact that the big media only has two strategies to make money: 1) print a feel good story to sell papers/get viewers; 2) print dirt to sell papers/get viewers.

They've run the CW feel good stories, but this year decided to try and dig up dirt. If you notice CW's press conferences he tends to get agitated with loaded questions from the big media people since he knows they already have their story written and are just wanting the quotes to fill in.

'The crucifixtion has to come before the resurrection."

Can I get that on a t-shirt??? Awesome.

That would be my auto-sig...if we still were able to perform that option. (grrr)

Aside from all the obvious things to groan about re: this article.......

The "reporter" claims that Weis refuses to give one-on-one interviews with the media. He does so every single week with Jack Nolan at WNDU, and there was also that tiny little bit last year on that obscure little show that 1 or 2 people might have heard of before... 60 MINUTES.

The "reporter" could at least get his shit straight before throwing it at ND.
