i think everybody and their mom knows its not the NFL, your down...he should know that!

If the guy was on his stomach or back on the ground, yeah...
But the angle that he was crouched down you couldn't see. Which is (I'm assuming) why no whistle was blown. The officials couldn't see either. I would have hit him too...

I don't think the players should have to study whether his knee hit before deciding whether a players is down. That's what the refs are for. Player down, blow the whistle.

I love how Pat Haden goes into FBI mode whenever something is about to go Notre Dame's way... All of a sudden he's got a magnifying glass and his nose is pressed against the replay monitor. Settle down Pat..... we know you hate the Irish. Don;t worry, the refs do too... it will all be okay.

Seems like this is taking a long time so I would expect that they are reversing the fumble call and are looking at the spot.
