I already talked about this in the "Pleasantly surprised" post, but in case you missed it: Weis said yesterday that John Sullivan, Pat Kuntz, and Sergio Brown will all be out this week, and Geoff Price and Mike Ragone are doubtful. Sullivan, who may be able to return for the Stanford game, will be replaced by Wenger, and Kuntz, who's almost definitely done for the year, by Williams. Luke Schmidt is practicing at both fullback and tight end, and may see the field some in place of Ragone.

Obviously no one wants injuries, but the upside if there is one is that the young guys will get more playing time.

It looks like Kuntz will be out more than one game. Ian Willimas moves in as the starting NT, bt who is there to back him up for rest?

I looked at ND's site for the depth chart. They list Williams, then Paddy Mullen, then Kuntz at the NT position, with Kuntz italicized.

Starting center is Wenger with Bemenderfer backing him up. He is also backing up Turkovich at LG.

Jashaad Gaines takes over Sergio Brown's back-up spot behind Zbikowski.

Schmidt at TE??? He does seem like a prototypical H-back, much like the guy on the Redskins... ??? ... oh well, I forgot his name. Schwapp has been a bust this year IMO.

We put our TE's in motion so often that they often are playing exactly the same role as a fullback, they just start lining up in a different spot. Often in our 2 TE sets, one goes in motion and is a lead blocker just like being a fullback. Then we can run the same play with a fullback as well. It's part of the whole "running the same play from multiple formations and personnel groups" thing. So LS probably knows how to play the blocking TE position pretty well I'd say.

I have heard that more than once. I would put him at noseguard, if he is as strong as posters here say he is.

Helluva idea ! He's almost exactly Zorich's sixe, and even looks a little like Chris !
