What does ND do if we finish 1-11?

Not here to flame, but we won't turn anything around with this coaching staff. Inexperienced team?? Who cares? Look at Illinois...they are equally, if not more inexperienced than ND...and they weren't recruiting well before Zook...but at least they seem to be on the right track...just ask Ohio State. Perhaps OSU was overrated, but they are not as bad as some of the teams that have smoked us this season.

Are recruiting rankings really that important? Look at Nebraska...number 1 class by some services just a couple of years ago. Okay, they laid the wood to K-State today, but they are not a very good team.

Being realistic, this season can't be blamed on Ty or inexperience or recruiting rankings. The lack of competetiveness is due to coaching...nothing else. Wake up and smell the coffee.

If we "blow the program up", are things truly going to get worse? Can they get worse? One more season and Weis will be gone.

I'm amazed at how quick we are to condemn anyone who points out the fact that this is simply an unbelieveably poorly coached football team. Weis complains of the inability of his highly touted recruits (his only saving grace at this point) to "get it", and simply refuses to admit he is clueless on how to manage a football game. He may be the greatest X and O guy on the planet, but there is a big difference. The team is 1 and 9. It doesn't make you less of a fan to point this out. Reality stinks sometimes, but your better off facing it now. The best thing he could have done after GT is refuse to pass the ball again until he could teach these kids how to run block, since they obviously didn't learn a thing in spring practice.

Look bliv711, I'm not the biggest advocate of the "Ty screwed us" argument, or the "We're inexperienced" argumet, but I'm not dense enough to thing that neither of those arguments have any validity. Take a peek at Illinois' schedule. I'm not even sure who they played this year, but I guarantee that ND would have traded schedules with them this year without question. And, even the biggest haters of ND who know ANYTHING about recruiting know that Ty did ND no favors for this year (and probably next year). The biggest point is this, to me. When the VERY YOUNG, and VERY INEXPERIENCED ND squad got clobbered in their first two or three games (which they probably shoud have lost) they lost confidence that the COULD win. To me, that has been the biggest hit this year. I hate to say it, but ND plays like they don't think they can win, no matter who they are playing. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are not flaming here, but give it a rest, please. This argument has been ongoing, and you could pile on on any number of threads if that is what you wish to do so.

It's the same guy. He's been a trouble maker on here for a week or so, then he was finally baned yesterday. So when he made a new account and tried to start the same stuff he was banned again. Since then he's been trying to take personal shots at me and has tried to bring down the site so to speak by trying to start arguments.

No, he's using a proxy just like WBA did. I believe LMI, GL, or EO could take care of all of them in one fell swoop.

Not aimed at this poster, but what is ND Irish Envy fascination with Zook and Myer?

Damn.

Wanna be envious of something other than ND football? I'll tell you a story about my neighbor, when I was 12. Let me tell you. She had long dark hair, she.....

Boo freaking hoo... You want a sure thing to bet on, bet on the sun coming up tomorrow.

And I don't want to hear you spout off about "us" drinking the Kool-Aid either. The only thing you've done on this site is bitch and moan. It's one thing to be a fan. It's quite another to be a fan when the team is down. I believe you're neither.

Just try not to hurt yourself jumping back on the bandwagon when we get good again. I hear it's one hell of a first step.

:jerkit:

Why you have such a hard-on for me is beyond me.

I've done much more than just "bitch and moan" on this site, and the "bitching and moaning" didn't start until this season, when, if you could for one second be honest with yourself, it has been quite deserved.

As for being a fan, if you're willing to sit and watch your team piss away to nothing and you're not upset about it, then you're the one who isn't a true fan, asshole. It has nothing to do with any bandwagon bullshit. I still cheer for the Irish every day; I'm just not too happy when the performance on the field looks like a botched abortion. Evidently it doesn't bother you too much, since you're such a great "fan."

These "Fire Charlie" threads are getting rather tiresome. I don't know what people expected this year. We lost quite a few players and gained some new blood. These guys are either just out of high school or had very limited playing experience last year. I didn't expect a powerhouse team this year. We've had one of the most difficult schedules in CF and played with very few experienced players. I'm not about to jump on the "Fire Charlie" bandwagon, and I doubt I'll be willing to do it next season either.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone wanting ND to get rid of Charlie isn't a true Fightin' Irish fan.

Meant to respond to this quote...but didn't reference it...So..again... We sure as heck should never have expected this. And --no-- Weis shouldn't be fired after this year. I completely agree. But if we get a repeat performance next year -- you are nuts if you think he shouldn't go.

The fact that Duke and Stanford are the last two on the schedule is a good thing. Not because it means we won't go 1-11.

Having them on the schedule means the ND fans can ask the Duke and Stanford fans how to chear for your football team that realistically has no reason to give you hope.

I guess I'm resigned to being a fan of a team that won't get it together. I'm so confused by this team and this season.

Hey folks, sorry I've been MIA. Long day, huh?

Here's what I wrote for the blog this morning. I'm not going to paste it in because the last thing we need here is more bitching and moaning.

Ugh.
