Chuck looks closer and closer to DEATH at the end of each game. He looks like he could just drop dead at any second. Lets see what the idiot has to say at his presser.

Tivo

I TIVO'd the game because I had a flag FB game to coach (we won). I decided to wait until the game was over, see who won, then come on here to see what I should expect when I turn it on. Knowing that ND lost again will take away alot of anxiety and stress. I want to analyze the game and compare notes to what I have read. It's all about looking forward to next year and evaluating skill, strengths & weaknesses to see what ND can build on. The questions are:

- That if CW loses the next 2, then what?
- Will we be able to hold on to 90% of our recruits?
- Can this actaully be viewed as a positive for recruiting? New kids might think they can
come in and play right away?
- Could ND still hold onto most of their recruits if the give CW the boot?

Footnote: ND didn't try hard enough to get Urban. Should have offered him all the
money we're going to pay CW to buy him out.

While it would be easy to conclude that we could start losing recruits, I think that would have started happening several games ago if it were going to happen. I think there ARE some positives for recruiting personally. I think how Jimmy played in the second half is certainly a positive. I think the way most of the young guys played was a positive. For example, Ian Williams was a beast. Neal and Smith played well again. These young guys are going to be the core of a very good team in a year or two and I think the recruits are smart enough to see that.

Great post, GoIrish41. The future looks bright, that's all we have right now to grasp on as fans. Jimmy actually looked healthy this game, the ball seemed to come out faster and with more zip than before. I'm just wondering where Kamara was today. Also, the Warriors need Stephen Jackson back badly.

Kamara had some school things that where not cleared up in time for him to play. That is what CW said at his presser.

Thanks goldenlid. After last week's performance, I was shocked not to see him on the field.

You forgot to add the following: "Don't worry passengers, this ship is unsinkable. SERIOUSLY. This ship is the Titanic. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey."

The other thing I forgot is to say you are an idiot. Why don't you just go away like you did last week after you made a complete fool of yourself. Could you be a bigger dick? I'll answer for you ... NO!

Being at the game I put this one more on the players than I do the coaches. I haven't watched the tape yet, but watching it live the players just seemed to not want it. Especially the OL line. They just seemd slow and clumsy with a complete lack of intensity.

I was keeping an eye on Duncan during the game. It seemed to me that he wasn't giving 100%. I don't know if you saw the same things that I did, but on a few plays I saw him just standing around with his hands on his hips. He didn't block or even try to stay in the play. IMO, he just looked sort of lackluster. Did you see any of that from the other players?

I give props to Stewart; I think he came in and played pretty well. Anyone else notice that Bemederfer's helmet had no gold left on it after like three plays?

Keep your head up coach. You are a winner. You have won, you will win again. You are recruiting winners.

Unfortuanly I saw a lot of that from a lot of players. It just seemed that onece they got down most of them had a here we go again mentality and it looks like the losses are starting to take their toll on them mentaly. There were a handfull of guys that looked like they really cared late into the game. They really need some thing to right for them early.

I loved Stewart's effort he acted like he cared and he was showing more fire than anyone else on the OL. At least from I saw.

Somehow I will never believe that an 18 - 22 year old football player, playing for Notre Dame, before the world on TV and radio and internet and media, does not "want it." I think it is all a product of the learning process, and Notre Dame football starting over.

A young Notre Dame team and staff is getting its collective ass kicked by superior teams. Some people watch too much espn or read too much sports media and actually believe hype. Next year, the team and staff will have 1 more year of experience with each other.

I think everyone will know by halftime of the first game next year if ND football under CW is headed in the right direction.

One of the things I saw in the game was that alot of the guys don't understand what they are being asked to do yet and ND plays slow because of it.

That's not good. I'm not going to knock Charlie, but something needs to be done to get these guys back into playing. They need someone from outside the program to give them a pep talk.Yeah things aren't going well right now, but I honestly don't think it would hurt to get these guys to open up and discuss the problems they're having.

Wacthing the game

Wacthing the game

I am wacthing the game on TIVO and just saw the AF drive before the end of the half. I thought the D looked pretty good up until that point. 2 minutes left and AF drives the distance with one pass completion. The players looked pathetic on that drive (no intensity). CW needs to give more 2-3 step drops for Clausen. The 5 step drops leave him open to the corner blitz. JC needs to start stepping up in the pocket. His passes look much better than Sharpley's (especailly out patterns). He just needs a better running game to keep the D off balance. Play calling still weak but better than early season. Of course the competition is also weaker.

Gip, since you were at the game, what were your impressions of Clausen?

I think he showed real talent. But right now and rightly so I think he's a more than a little shell shocked. I know he'll learn and get better with experience, but as of right now my only major concers is how he'll somtimes try to avoid the pass rush. That little turn around thing he does needs to go. He did seem to have several very nice throws though. It'll jus take some time just as it does with all young QBs at any level. High School, College, Pros, it doesn't seem to matter unless they have great team around them already where all they have to do is not screw up too bad.

Inexperience. Coaches who don't know how to deal with it. A schedule loaded with proud football programs salivating at the thought of kickin an ND team that is down.

Fans that don't understand that the ND schedule is one of the toughest in the country, compounded exponentially by ND's youth vs. opposition's experience.

That's all.

No offense BeatSC, but maybe too simple an analysis. I think that posters on this forum believe play calling is a problem.

I can't stress enough that play calling is not a problem with ND. Play calling is a child's game if the correct system is in place.

The correct system is not in place.

Let's go Irish. I was torn whether to put any v-bucks on this game. I gave in to v-peer pressure.

Today is the last time i bet on a ND game. I'd like to cash out my v-bucks now. can someone point me to the cashier? large bills are prefered.
