That may be a good thing for BQ. I imagine there is a bit of an adjustment from even top level college to pros and learning from the sidelines might help him.

My theory as to why Jamarcus Russell drug his feet signing a contract for so long in the preseason was because he didn't want them to start him this year, knowing how terrible the offense was going to be. Because he didn't report to camp, he's behind the other QB's and doesn't know the playbook well, didn't get much practice with the offense, etc. If that is what he did, i think it's kinda smart.

John Kitna had a great year in Cincy before being benched the next yearin favor of Palmer. I think Anderson is a good QB but Quinn has the potential to be something special! Anderson is trade bait for a running back next year! Unless, Anderson wins that first playoff game...which is not going to happen being that it will be Indy or New England!

Local papers and talks show here see Anderson as great trade bait for a 2nd even 1st round pick considering the upcoming free agent class and lack of QB talent in this years draft. Yes, QB's are at a premium in this years draft and there are a number of marginal ones out there currently, but I am not sure how many are REALLY sold on Anderson's abilities to give up a first round pick.

My opinion...

If I'm GM of a team possibly looking to draft a QB in round 1 (Minnesota, Atlanta, Carolina, Chicago, etc.) then I would feel much more comfortable using that pick to get a guy who already has a year's starting experience in the NFL and has shown that he can get it done as opposed to a guy coming out of college who may or may not pan out. QB is one of the hardest positions to predict success/failure in the NFL and, given the choice, you go for the option presenting far less risk.

If the Browns manage to get into the playoffs somehow then they won't trade Anderson next year. Anderson will start next year as the #1 QB. Brady will see the field eventually...he has too much talent. Sitting & learning for 2 yrs won't hurt him

I doubt that. Miami thinks Beck has has much upside as Quinn. That's why they passed on Quinn this year

You have a point........but you don't label someone "the future anything of your team", if he wasn't important enough to take in the first round. I'm not saying he won't eventually start, but calling him the future at quarterback for the Dolphins is akin to calling him a franchise-type player. You don't hang those monikers on a second round draft pick.

No it won't Indy and NE will have 1st round byes. If they make it it would be against the Steelers, or the West Champ.
