After looking at the last three recruiting classes for Notre Dame, I seriously believe that (if the trend of top ten classes continue) we could see our 8th through possibly 11th Heisman trophy winners come in the next six years. I mean this may sound crazy and unprecedented but hey, it could happen. what do ya say?

The RB from OU (name escapes me), Joe McKnight, Arrelious Benn. There are 3 reasons you're not going to see a Heisman winner at ND anytime soon. ND has too many weapons (on paper, at least) for one person to get enough touches to stand out enough to win a Heisman. The only way an ND player wins a Heisman in the next six years is we win the NC. And even then I think it could only be a QB. Still unlikely.

Let's start with winning some games. They don't give the Heisman to players on teams that go 1-11 (or 6-6, for that matter).

I agree even if we started winning games we will have a 3-4 headed monster at RB and WR will be loaded with talent. QB is our only chance and QB's only get the heisman if they are in the hunt for the national championship. 2010 is the earliest I see that happening unless there are drastic changes next year!!!

Chuck is learning a lot of things this year about collegiate coaching, and I feel this year is going to pay huge benefits almost immediately to the Irish. Think about it. Ohio State's heisman winner last year wasn't even the best player on their team. I think it's rather possible.

um, we lost to Navy. we couldn't even with the commander in chief's trophey, let alone have a player win the Heisman.
