As long as he is "Feeling better" but they need to encourage him to throw downfield and just go for it.

Only if he's healthy. But if he is, then YES he should start.

Yep. Sharpley was ok, but why not prepare for the future?

Repeating a thought...what if Jimmy is NOT the future? All we keep hearing is Jimmy is 'hurt, not injured.' Yet he still has not gotten on the field. If Evan is still the best choice at this point in the season, something is afoul.

DC in '08?

JC has little to gain as far as "experience" goes in playing in 3 games where we're most likely going to lose to the dregs of CFB, especially if he is not 100% healthy, which is very unlikely considering most players coming into the season healthy aren't 100% healthy 10 weeks into the season, much less someone who didn't come into the season 100%.

Let him sit, heal, learn a bit more, and bulk up a little over the off-season while Sharpley takes the lumps in a throw-away season. Then start him next year in game 1 at (hopefully) 100%.

Just my humble 2 cents.

Only way I's play him is if he is healthy and make all the throws. Plus I would let him air it out....no 3yd chuck & duck offense

You should watch the game closely on replay...ugh

Yeah, he was BAD. Gosh his throws were just all over the place. I have trouble believing he finished the day 17-27 ... several of those (I can think of three offhand) were cases where he was bailed out by great catches, I guess.

No offense, but did we watch the same game?

Sharpley's first pass...........Carlson is running almost uncovered down the center of the field, and Sharpley throws a horrible pass that Jerry Rice probably couldn't have caught, in his prime. That was at least a 25 yard completion, if not 40 or 50 if Carlson happens to plow through the safety.

Sharpley continually held the ball like a loaf of bread, all day. I'm amazed not only that he only coughed it up once, but that it took so long for him to do so.

There were two or three of the deep comeback routes that were well open, and Sharpley couldn't hit the receiver.

I go back to the play where Hughes, or was it Aldridge, got blown up in the backfield, because Sharpley mistimed the snap count and the TE in motion had no chance to pick up the defensive tackle who was supposed to get trap blocked by him.

Sharpley didn't cost them the game, but he sure looked bad.

As much as I am a fan of Sharpley. He just isn't as accurate or complete as Jimmy. Sharpley has ALOT of heart and plays hard. We need to get Jimmy in there! We go as Jimmy goes.

I was at the game and behind the north endzones in row 16. From that point of view for the whole game he did not look all that bad... I guess ill have to watch it on TV so i dont get criticized next time

I did say "No offense, but.........." I wasn't meaning to criticize you. I just wondered what you saw, or didn't see, that was different from my perspective.

Guys,
Sharpley did not have a bad day at the office. His fumble was bad, but the play call there was another dumbass screen call by our offensive genius CW that got blown up just like the other 432 screens we have tried this year. Plus, I saw some terrible drops by West and Grimes. The pass for a TD to Kamara was placed in the only place possible for a TD. Sharpley does not have the upside that JC does, however he is NOT the reason we lost on Saturday. He bailed us out on 4th and forever late in the game. He made a great throw to Kamara. I hope both get to play this coming week.

I disagree, I feel his passes were off the mark most of the time, he floats the ball way to much no zip on his passes. JC, I think we all would agree, is the future QB of this team. The more reps he gets this year the better

I absolutely agree that Sharpley did not lose the game. But, I couldn't disagree more, that he didn't have a bad day at the office. He's inaccurate, he carried the ball like a loaf of bread, and one thing that has not been discussed:

On the TD pass to Kamara........nice pitch and catch. But still not a smart play. What Sharpley SHOULD have done was tuck the ball and run. He was all by his lonesome on the outside. The play resulted in a touchdown, but it was NOT a smart decision on his part.

I have been saying this all along maybe now people will realize it. Sharpley needs his receivers to make the plays, while Clausen actually puts the throws where his receivers have a chance to make plays before and after the catch. Also I would love to see more of Golden Tate this week. If our O-Line can protect whoever our QB is this week, I fell we can throw for 200 or so yards.
