I moved to Atlanta in 1990, the year the Braves finished in last place in the division with the most inferior record in major league baseball. I saw bumper stickers that said "GO BRAVES...and take the Falcons with you". The big joke was if you called the ticket office to ask what time the game was, they would say "what time can you get here?"
but then, the next year they win the N.L. league pennant. It was a magical time in this city. You saw tomahawks on school buses, mailboxes, the police had them on their badges etc. Being in Fulton County Stadium hearing the Tomahawk chop is a memory that can still bring chills.
the bad times are what make you truly appreciate the good ones. Next year, this season will just make the success we KNOW is coming all the sweeter. Especially for the faithful.
