By the way, sit back and enjoy this year, as ND develops a championship program, and all the other current "championship programs" drop like flies. Here's to a South Florida National Championship!

I agree, we return 18 starters next year and 20 or even 21 in 2009. We will be nasty again.

Don't you think it would be nice to have a team with a winning record...and maybe like actually win a BOWL game before we start talking about a National Championship????

The point of my post was that we are in the midst of "developing" a championship program. In the meantime, college football is a nuthouse this year, so we should enjoy it. Also, if given the chance for an Outback Bowl victory next year or a National Championship next year....err...ummm.... I'll take National Championship.

Isn't it just amazing how the expectations are just so different for us? We haven't won a bowl game since Bush Sr. was in the White House (ok, I'm off by less than a year), but we think a national championship is not only on the horizon, but NEXT YEAR.

I GUARANTEE MY PROJECTION FOR THE 2008 SEASON will be 13-0.

All the same, someone has to steer the ship. If we can't get this QB situation situated soon, we may be looking at this as the 'Daviehamweis' era.

I love our coach and what he stands for, so I refuse to believe it. But it's the facts.

I just sent two boys back to college, one on a plane to WVU and one on the road to Alabama. They both agree that
A) Next year is a bowl win
B) 2009 Notre Dame v Alabama in the NC. with the crown going to the Irish

and despite the schools they both attend, both agreed that the sight of all these SEC fans going nuts at the idea of USF v Ohio State in the NC is pretty funny

nobody is saying NC in 08, they all said 09. I think that should definitly happen, and if we dont atleast make a BCS bowl then and win it or make the NC, then and only then will I be disappointed in Weis.

How does the schedule look any more favorable in 2009 than 2008?

We get scUM at home next season and a trap game at the Willingham Open in Seattle. U$C is in LA, with 1st year starter 'Dirty' Sanchez.

Any other games that concern you on paper in '08?

I guzzle the L'aid. (My new cool abbreviation for Kool Aid--try it, you might like it.) I'm the nobody saying NC in '08.
