In honor of the 30th reunion of the 1977 National Championship, and the upset of Texas in the Cotton Bowl how about a tribute to one of the greatest teams ND ever had to bring back the Memories. Maybe like the captians and key players from that season to remind us of happier times!
Thanks
That is a great idea. I will start but I don't have pics.
Vagas Ferguson is from my home town and a fellow alum of Richmond High School. I remember watching the Cotton Bowl with just about every Italian Catholic in our town. My grandfather was scheduled to have surgery that day but talked the surgeon into rescheduling and then they both watched the game in my grandfather's hospital room.
Vagas, Lamar Lundy (Fearsome Foursome with Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen, and Rosey Grier) and Weeb Eubank (NY Jets Coach 69 Super Bowl) are all from Richmond. But Vagas is the favorite football son after that Cotton Bowl game.
