If he commits, this means our future NT runs a 4.7 40. Or he could play DE. Either way, that is some serious quicks in the middle of the line.

Well, he already has committed. The question is whether he's going to honor it. But yes, he'll be a beast.

What trouble with Weis?? If he walks away, Weiss will never get to touch the kid. This verbal crud means nothing anymore. look at how many guys around the country are changing their mind. Early signing period is the only solution.

I mean trouble as in "If you're looking, we're looking". If Hunter visits anywhere else, his scholarship will be available for someone else to take.

That would be fine if there was a better nt available

there are other options out there if Omar decides to look, but I'm not gonna worry about it till someone reliable says he is looking, not just some stupid ass trolling USC fan on a free ND message board

I only believe the words that come from Omar....therefore, I'm not worried.

Well, get worried. From what I'm hearing he plans on making visits to...

that's right USC, and Florida. I think it might be time to see if Masengo Kabongo is stuill interested in an offer.

I don't think that Weis would automatically pull his scholarship, but he will goto the guys on the list at DT and let them know that there is an open scholarship if one of them wants to commit right now. Would also be a good time to look for kids that weren't high on recruiting lists, but have made themselves known during the season.

sorry guys, but if Omar goes on other visits (other than ND) after committing......that's straight up bullshit!!
What would be his motivation? Because we're winless this year? What does he care, he's still in high school! If it's something else, then he has some character issues. Omar had to be told numerous times by the staff not to commit unless he was 100% sure.

CW's policy of "we're looking if you're looking" doesn't make sense since there isn't going to be much on the board and D-line recruiting (for guys still left uncommitted) has probably been limited/nil since we stocked up early. And that really leaves the staff in a poor position to replace guys at the last minute if their were any defections. At least from a talent standpoint.

This is just for arguments sake, I'm not bashing Omar here. I'm sure he's a great kid, but tell me who wouldn't be disappointed if this turns out to be true?

And where are the parents in all of this? They are a major part of the process. Don't they want to instill integrity in their kids by staying true to their word?

What reliable source is there to the rumor Omar Hunter is setting up visits anywhere but Notre Dame (i.e., to USC and Florida)?

Well, it was an AJC reporter who said he was going to be at yesterday's Georgia Tech game ...

If that is why he is listed as a Soft Verbal, then why isn't Hafis Williams listed as a Soft Verbal?

Who is hitting the panic button here? Unless the AJC reporter said Hunter was re-opening his recruitment, how can you call him a Soft Verbal? I'd love to go to a free football game.

Trust me, the person that informed me of this knows what he's talking about, and I'm sure he'd love to be wrong about it but he almost never is. As far as Hafis goes there wasn't anying remotely concrete that he did in fact go to a Rutgers game, and from what I can remember there was only one person posting those rumors to begin with. I've heard the Omar stuff from USC people, Florida, people, and now ND people.

I really hope I'm wrongk but chances are that something happend to get all these rumors going.

Goshen I believe you because you're always on point with information. It's just crazy because he said three days ago that he was solid on the Irish. I guess he isn't 100 percent Irish, or Solid as he said.

Just stop the guessing and let the chips fall. We can't do a thing on here but drive ourselves nuts and maybe tick off one hell of a great football player. He is probably going thru the same trials and tribulations that we all would in the same situation. Omar, good luck and GO IRISH

Hes getting national regonition. So all the other top programs will go after him and try to sell him on our 0-5 start. But I think he sees that we are thin at the DL spot and with Laws leaving, that leaves a spot for anyone of the younger guys coming in. With him, in my opinion the top guy to take over that spot.

Does anyone know if Hunter has said anything about visting other schools? There's only "rumors", is there anything concrete out there?

All the threads carry an April date....why the hell are they even on here except to either start a rumor or give creditiblity to the one that the SCUM poodle has made an offer to Hunter.

Are you talking about a lot of the player profiles? If you are I don't know why you're asking why they're even on here it should be pretty self-explanatory. It's to learn about, and keep up with players that are being recruited by ND, or already commited to them.

I don't like it at all. In the interview he said he is solid with ND "for now." That doesn't sound too reassuring in my eyes. Now that all this garbage is happening I can't help but think Charlie and Corwin got together in February and said, "We gotta get these guys committed early. Getting them to commit in-season will be a lot harder, and we're going to have to work our tails off to keep these guys on board during the rough season ahead." Omar is one of the most important ones in this class. I hope he stays with us. Letting him go to USC would be a kick in the balls.

I thnk Omar is the most important player in this class!!! We do not have a bigger need the DL and he is a big nasty player that has a HUGE upside. He is strong and will be a huge access for us. I am afraid if he decommits it will start a spiral of decommits, especially on the defensive side of the ball!!!

just a note, I think I'm going to change Omar back to a solid verbal, at least for the time being. Then if he does follow through with the visits I'll change it back to a soft verbal.
