Oh, come on ... Young started as a frosh and Wenger is starting this year, Walls took a starting job away from a 5th-year this year, West and Gallup are our #s 2 and 3 wideouts, Aldridge has seen lots of meaningful playing time, and McNeil, Smith, Schmidt, Yeatman, Richardson, Ryan, Carufel, and Olsen have all seen meaningful playing time this year and many of them could well be starting by the end of it. They're just sophomores - it's WAY too early to even think about calling this class a bust.

As to Jones and Frazer leaving - every team loses some players, whether to academic issues, personal issues, playing time, or whatever. Dropping two from a class of 20+ is pretty good IMO.

Yes he did, but almost all of it was in the 2nd half against the scrubs ... but yes, he did do pretty well.

Where did I call this class a bust? I am just wondering who is going to be a superstar. There was nothing negative about my post. Just wondering who is going to step up and be a difference maker?

Okay, okay. I think West, Parris, and Aldridge all have the potential to be that guy, as to Yeatman and Reuland. If offensive linemen can be gamebreakers, count Sam Young in there, too. Obviously they're not NEARLY there yet, but be patient ...

No one wins against a Wall(s)

I really like Aldridge and Parris on Offense, watching both of these guys, I think both can be gamebreakers. Aldridge and Allen will be a force for years to come. I think both Stewart (a mountain of a man) and Gaines will become very good players.

These are the guys who need to step it up. They were supposed to be the best OL class at ND in years. They need to start showing something.

Matt Carufel OL 6-5 280 5.3 5.9 St. Paul, MN
Eric Olsen OL 6-5 300 5.1 5.9 Brooklyn, NY
Chris Stewart OL 6-5 340 5.4 5.8 Klein, TX
Bartley Webb OL 6-7 290 5.4 5.7 Springdale, AR
Daniel Wenger OL 6-4 280 5.2 5.8 Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Sam Young OL 6-8 302 4.9 6.1 Ft. Lauderdale, FL

I had hoped to see more from Konrad Reuland and Luke Schmidt by this time but I’m still quite optimistic about this class.

Well, some signs point to seeing much more of Schmidt in the near future. Reuland is #3 on the depth chart, but with the way we've been (not) blocking, some more multi-TE sets may be a real possibility as well.

I think he went to UCONN.

As far as the 06 class goes these guys are all sophmores with alot games to be played in the future. With the exception of Young all the guys listed on the O line have not seen a ton of playing time until this year.

The pick Walls made against PSU showed some of the tremendous skill and speed he can bring to the D, which ND obviously needs. I really think he is going to be a true gamebreaker.

I think Ryan Burkhart is our best player from the 06 class.

I lawl'd. I wish all the players success, and I hope Burkhart is making the most of his education, because a scholarship 3rd string kicker is sad.
