I think we beat MSU this week

I have throughly researched the MSU team and they are much slower on defense than any of the 3 teams that we have played. Don't get me wrong they will bring the heat, (Dantonio is known as a very good defensive coach) but he doesn't have the personel to fit his defensive scheme quite yet. Even though it hasn't been apparent I think our athletes far out match theirs. The offense will have fewer mistakes and will move the ball with consistancy, which will give the D a break. I can't wait until saturday!

I don't see us winning this game and as of now..there is a great chance we start 0-8. I think Pudure might score 60 on Us and the same for USC....I guess there is always next year and the year after that right..GO IRISH...(holding back tears as I type)

I'm with you plove...I love my Irish and will till the end of time, but they just look so bad right now I can't imagine who they can beat. The only teams that I think we've got a chance against are Duke and Stanford, and like I said, its a chance, not a lock. I just see this season as continuing to beat on these kids mentally which is just going to make them an even worse team. With MSU, Perdue, BC and USC coming up, we could suffer some pretty serious butt whoppins that we may not be able to bounce back from. Furthermore, if Carroll decides to embarass us and play his second and third stringers for a half or maybe even more our guys will just be crushed mentally.

Lets hope we can pull a major upset against one of these programs and get some momentum on our side or something...if not, this is going to continue to be a rough season.

It seems as if the only thing on people's minds is the butt-whippings we have received the past 3 weeks. I don't blame anyone for that. However, with a new week brings new hope. Lost in all the BS of ND football is the flag-planting of MSU players 2 years ago when we lost to them in overtime on our own field. I certainly haven't forgotten that. I realize there are some major issues to overcome, but with this game should come renewed passion toward beating the shit out of a team that came to our house and tarnished our image with the flag-planting.

I don't know about you guys but looking at other ND message boards, namely Irish Illustrated, has made me sick. Nine out of ten posts on that board are disgracing to the Irish program and its coming from its "supposed" fans. There are opposing teams' fans that are being more understanding of our situation than we are. Everyone is giving up on the Irish and all the progress Weis has made the past couple of years since taking over for Willingham. This was inevitable. Did we think it was going to be this bad? Of course not. But our O-line depth was depleted.

I am frustrated as you all are, but giving up on your favorite team because they don't play the way you want them to is not the answer. I am still a ND fan and will always be, even if we get our asses handed to us. Losing is a part of the game and if we have a losing record, so be it. It's not the end of the world. Keep the faith, ND will win in the end.

Good post Mizz. I too have expressed frustration over our losses but I have never expressed a lack of allegiance to my alma mater and never will. ND will come back and I still beleive a nat'l championship is possible ...either 09 or 10. Just pray I'm here to see it.

A week ago, Id totally agree with you. However, after watching this latest debacle, I donno. I think MSU is the opponent we have the BEST chance of beating right now, and if we dont, I dont think we'll win until after Navy(yeah, Im picking them to upset us this year).

I think that you are right on. The PSU game actually gave me some hope that by mid-season, we would see some progress. I just don't understand how Oregon can light up Michigan's defense, but we don't have enough talent to score one freaking point.

I'll probably watch the first part of the MSU game, because I haven't missed a game in forever. But, I'm not sure how much more of this pain I can take. This year is actually worse than any year that I can remember, including the Jerry Faust years (which were horrible beyond belief).

I also have some concerns about Navy. They've played us pretty well the past 8-10 years (or so). I find it hard to believe that Navy could out muscle our OL like GT, PSU and MU did. But, I also wouldn't have predicted zero offensive TDs in three games.

What is wrong with you people? Any prediction of a win at this point is absurd. Did anyone watch Saturday? We lost to a horrible Michigan team, and we made their pathetic "D" look like the best in the big 10. Momentum is huge, and we have zero and MSU has a ton. I'm just hoping our special teams or "D" can finally make a big play to change the complection of the game...otherwise, another painful Satuday is upon us all.
