Guys,
I will admit that I have been totally dissapointed in this season. I did state in the preseason online poll here that I thought 7-5 was the bar and 6-6 was real possibility. We are short on depth and upper class talent and we have a ridiculously tough schedule. Now with all that said, here are the reasons we have to smile with great optimism for the future. There are several and let's revel in the future together.
1. YOUTHFUL TALENT -- I look at the first three games and you can see some really young kids who are going to become special in the next couple years. Clausen, Kamara, Tate, Allen, Neal, Bruton, Williams, Walls, McNeil, Richardson. Further, I am excited to see kids like Romine, Paskorz, Smith, Smith, Gray. They all show fantastic promise great enthusiasm.
2. FUTURE TALENT -- We have a class of kids coming in that when combined with the youthful talent will put us among any of elite in the country. Further these kids have said they are confident in what their class can do, so they are not being swayed by the poor start.
3. SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS -- As you can see in our future schedules, we have become more realistic and have some breathing room. I can see us running the table in a couple years with the talent and a properly tempered schedule. Let's face it, the Florida's, USC's, Oklahoma's have plenty of cushion in the schedule to assist their run.
4. COACH WEIS -- CW has not been perfect, but he is a extremely hard worker. Further, he is willing to make changes in his style and make hard decisions on coaching changes. He will continue to modify and adapt. Finally, he is an ND guy who wants desperately to see ND succeed and become a football power again.
5. FIXABLE ISSUE -- The reality of our current issue lies tackle to tackle. We are struggling on the Oline. The D has shown improvement this year, but on Saturday they just lost faith after ND went down so much early. The special teams look a little better. The team will start to go once the Oline issue is fixed. We will make big strides this Saturday. I have faith in what we will see.
6. ND FAN BASE -- We are the most pationate and dedicated fans in the country. We will continue to support and cheer on our boyz!!! We stand behind them and can be proud of how much class our team has and how we live a great standard at ND. GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!
It is gonna be a tough year folks, but PLEASE let's cheer our boyz and make them feel our support. The horizon is bright and our boyz will be back with a vengence. NO MORE BAD DISCUSSIONS THIS WEEK.
