AMEN! In Charlie I trust! ND has a bad outing and all the talking heads want him fired. It's funny to me that all these guys on espn and the radio critique coaches, yet none of them have coached cept for LOU. Mark May is a perfect example, if you cant coach or play anymore, then critique. WHAT CRAP!!!!
WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK COACH

Charlie WILL work this team out! Look at what HE did with Tom Brady.....does anyone think he got all of those Super blow rings from being a slacker of a coach?

Put the Kool-Aid down. Charlie is a great coach, but after his showing so far this season, I'd say he's yet to earn our blind faith in him.

Yes he coached/mentored/developed Tom Brady. But that TEAM won those rings; not Charlie Weis. What he did with Tom Brady (turning a lump of coal into a diamond) is amazing and a testament to his abilities as a QB coach, but Charlie didn't win multiple Super Bowls by himself.

He can't walk on water; please stop treating him like he can. He's made some extremely questionable calls (not just play calls) so far this year. He still needs to prove himself. I don't care how much of a "genius" people think he is; as long as I need to continue to listen to Charlie himself talk about how he screwed the pooch after every big game then I refuse to tolerate our blind faith in him.

Now let's kick some skunkbear ass!!!!!

[EDIT:] And just to be clear, I think CW is the best thing that has happened to ND football in a long time and that he WILL get this thing turned around. I'm just sick and tired of the homer excuses.

Charlie isn't God, that is well established... but he is recruiting a monster team... if you are a Notre Dame fan then you know what it means to be patient after the last ten years... you should be able to wait one to two more...

wow... i'm an ND diehard, just like you guys and gals. I won't get into my pedigree as an ND fan, but suffice to say i love the team. That said, criticism is an important part of getting better. You think Charlie Weiss doesn't give copious amounts of criticism to his players? Do you think he didn't sit around and privately bash the previous coaches and all the moronic decisions they made while at ND? I gurarantee you he did. And now he needs to accept our criticisms as part of the job.

The offensive line is really pathetic. If you watch closely, particularly if you have tivo and can rewind and slo motion everything, you will see that they are undisciplined, slow to react, don't work in concert with eachother, and often there is one or 2 O linemen that either wiff on a block or don't get in a position to block anyone. The O line had 6 or 7 penalties on Saturday, while giving up 5 sacks... That's just a terrible follow up to their 9 sacks allowed in game 1 against GA Tech. They've played 2 solid teams, and it's clear the O line is not up to par.

I hope the team gets better in a hurry... but i for one will not sit around silently watching such poor performance without voicing my criticism!

Guys,
When I was asking myself how woeful we are are in talent in the upper classes I went thru the depth chart last night and analyzed who will be drafted from this team this year and next. Here goes what I believe.
Offense--
QB-none in the upper two classes
RB-Jabbie and Thomas are both not headed to Sunday's
WR-Grimes is an average receiver who might make a practice squad
TE-Carlson will be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round.
OL-Sully will be a solid Sunday player. Turk and Duncan end there playing days in SB.
Defense--
DL-Laws will be drafted and be a good pro. Kuntz might get a free agent tryout.
LB-Brockington will end his playing days in SB. Crum will get drafted late late rounds. Vernaglia will not get any shot at Sunday.
DB-Zibby will get drafted mid rounds. Bruton might get drafted mid rounds. Lambert and Wooden might get a try out somewhere.
What does all this tell you. In the next two years which includes current Juniors, Seniors and 5th year players. We have only 2 players on O that will play on Sundays. On D we have only 3 that will get drafted and a couple others who might get a tryout somewhere. This is an indication of how depleted our top line talent is in the upper classes. If you take out our current 5 yr players. The only person in our Junior and Senior classes who will be drafted is Bruton and maybe Crum. All this would not be a big deal if we did not play a schedule loaded with NFL prep programs. In looking at how bad our recruiting was in 2004-05 we actually were only a few spots above that football powerhouse of Duke. I understand we are loaded in Freshman and Soph, but they need some time to mature. Add in this years class and we will be back in the game with the premiere programs. If you look back at the days of Lou, we were an NFL draft machine. We were having multiple people drafted in the first round each year. Let's give Charlie a little rope this year. I think we will see progress as the season moves on. At PSU, the D looked very solid. They were just left on the field way too long.

What's funny to me is that we knew this was coming. We knew it. There was talk the last two years concerning this time that we are in right now. Do we act rationally and remember the various conversations? No, we act irrationally and turn on the team and the coach. Charlie has to play the hand he's been dealt. He has to depend on young inexperienced players and an o-line that is a work in progress at best. The tops teams have numerous juniors and seniors, who were 4-star and 5-star recruits, that they can depend on for leadership and production. Charlie does not have that option right now. He will in another year or two, but not this year. We'll just have to wait it out. On top of that, this is not the schedule you want to face when breaking in such a young team. That playing some of the best teams stuff is biting us in the a$$ right now. I wish we would have started with Duke and Sisters of the Poor like everyone else. That way, we could have gotten our feet under us. There are more losses to come. Some by double digits (see USC).

when youre a high profile school and a high profile program you never "expect" to be down, even though you may think it or even sort of expect it, that never makes it any easier to swallow....let the nay-sayers within the Irish fanbase piss and moan, but in the end ND will be better because of these trials! I won't feel bad for ND, because they will eventually be okay...best of luck the rest of the way!

Now that's not to say that I don't die with every false start, dropped pass, sack, 2-yd loss, etc. However, I'm trying to keep things in perspective. We don't have the experience to make noise this year. I didn't expect them to do much this year. Did I expect that it would be this bad? No, not by a long shot. However, with the lack of depth and experience at key positions, I knew this year was going to be a struggle. This team will get better over the course of the year. I can't say that it doesn't get to me, because it does. I just try to keep this in perspective.

I has alot of respect for you Charlie, but you don't need me to tell you that. No offense touchdown in 3 games is alarming. I can't rationalize why we can't get know game that will work. We knew it was gonna be bad , but we starting to get stomped by arch rival. and it gonna get worst before it get better. I still have faith that you will write the ship. But us fans need some sign that things are get better.

Hey coach Holtz had to agree with Mark May last night and say that this team is bad. Do you think that hurt, I felt bad for coach Holtz. At this point all anyone is looking for is the team to show up and do something it doesn't have to be big just something you can build on.
