No, I think we're all ticked, but there's no need to act like it's the end of the world and everyone on our team is crap.

I've claimed neither...apparently criticism of poor play that even Stevie Wonder could see isn't really welcome. Of all the games I don't want to see ND lose this year, next week is it. And nothing I saw today gives me any hope that we'll see a completely different team after a week of practice. I said in another thread that I had no delusions coming into the season. I'm not disappointed with the loss...I'm disappointed with how they lost. Poor fundamentals & sloppy play is not what I expected at all. I wouldn't care if that idiot Mark May's predictions came 100% true as long as I saw a team that was competitive.

I guess we'll see what kind of genius CW really is next week. Hopefully we're alot happier this time next week. And at that, if I see a hard fought loss, I won't be nearly as bummed. That said, if I see our secondary get torched, you can bet I'll complain about it.

Yes it is, it just matters how you do it.

I'm really bumed as well, and I figured even if ND lost it would be much closer than it was. But having played quite a bit of fooball this, to me anyway, was not a total shock. Playing a team like GT was about the worst kind of oppenent ND could have with such an inexperienced offense.

I saw some things I liked on D, but when you're on the feild all day and are constanly put in a tight spot because of feild posistion you are eventually going to tire and give up some points.

There is a very good chance ND will struggle next week, but if the line can improve some, and JC and AA can get some more PT then I think it will at least be competative.

I was only pointing out what was obvious (at least to me).

I agree with you on both points...I don't know how many times I can say that it's not that they lost, but how that bothers me. I knew today was a crapshoot but I didn't think they'd get blown out and sadly, outclassed.

Did ya read the gameday thread during the game...I realize everything you said and more or less noted the same things. When they were fresh, the d was pretty decent.

No, not really. I've found that I really don't like posting or chatting during games. I like to be more focused on the game which usually starts in a chair or on the couch, but I usually end up pacing around.

you know, in the beginning of the game, the defense was kind of getting me excited, they looked great in the redzone and the defensive line was getting great penetration especially from kunts and laws but they got tired, faded and we dont have anyone to back them up so they were playing tired. The difference between GT and us is the fact tht they have a plethora of people that they can throw in at any time while we have very few.

The thing i noticed most about the D is the big plays. Last year it seemed they gave up 4 big plays a game with most of those TD's. Against GT, Choice rattled off a 45 yard scamper but didnt score on that run. That was the only big play i saw. Another thing with the D... They kept us in the game that first half. The Offense wasnt doing anything but give the ball to GT. Its hard to stop a team continually while you arent getting any rest.
