This Weeks SHOCKER!

I only have one this week. Notre Dame 28 - Purdue 24

(but be on the lookout for Kansas State over #7 Texas)

Week 1 - 9/1/2007
Washington State (0-0) [Unranked, Unranked] over Wisconsin (0-0) [#7, #7]

Result: Washington State played well, trailing 28-21 heading into the final quarter. Wisconsin proves to be too much as they take this one by the final score of 42-21.
Weeks True Shocker: DIV 1AA Appalachian State (1-0) over Michigan (0-1) [#5, #5] 34-32. While some call it the biggest upset in college football history, I find it hard to think that after the way they played LSU two years ago. I thought this game would be close throughout, with Michigan pulling away in the fourth. Congratulations to the Mountaineers, I bet their feeling "HOT HOT HOT":

Week 2 - 9/8/2007
Noter Dame (0-1) [unranked] over Penn State (1-0) [#14]
Result: What can I say, my Irish have broken my heart again. Almost there; the Irish played markedly better, and hung around until the fourth quarter. I can't wait until this young and exciting team starts to gel; there will be much fun to be had.

Honorable Mention: Washington (1-0) [unranked] over Boise State (1-0) [#22]
Result: BINGO! While other teams in the top 25 also faltered, namely Georgia, we all had been expecting that. This was the weeks biggest shocker, as the Huskies overcame the running of Ian Johnson and coaching of Ty Willingham, and ended the nations longest winning streak. Locker, you're a gamer. Congratulations Huskies, way to make me look better than Mark May.

Week 3 - 9/15/2007
Lets call this upset weekend. No analysis, just a rundown of all the ranked teams that will fall, plus a special shocker treat at the end.

Maryland over #4 West Virginia - West Virginia wins 31-14
Alabama over #16 Arkansas - BINGO! Alabama pulls a SHOCKER! 38-41
Fresno State over #19 Oregon - Uh, well, let's forget this one. Oregons for real, 52-21
Kentucky over #9 Louisville - BULLSEYE! Kentucky 40 - 34 over Overrated & Co.
UNLV over #24 Hawaii - This was a shoo in for hype... and Hawaii cruised to a 49-14 victory.

and

Notre Dame 38 - Michigan 0 [enjoy] - RIGHT ON THE MONEY! just got the teams reversed.

Week 4 - 9/22/07
Iowa (2-1) [Unranked] over Wisconsin (3-0) [#9]
What a Heart Breaker. Wisconsin 17-13 over Iowa.

Arkansas (1-1) [Unrakned] over Kentucky (3-0) [#21]
A big fourth quarter thwarted the upet as Kentucky managed to rally from a 21-29 deficit to win 42-29.

and, of course:

Notre Dame 24 - Michigan State 0
It's ok, we have Purdue this week.

Season Total: 3-7

my record sucks. I should get bonus points for near misses.

Other than the game at Arizona State when their coach made the terrible decision to leave his players at home and have the band play the game.

unranked Oklahoma St. over #13 Georgia

That was the runner up. Georgia is definitely the most overrated team ever. I can't believe they aren't ranked #6 this year as they usually are.

However, I think they win that one, just lose to an unranked SEC team instead.

Actually, this is a really good prediction, I think. I dont see Wazzu doing it, but it's not as unbelievable as most unranked Vs top 10 matchups. I think Wisc is riding a lot of overrated momentum from beating up creampuffs last year, so their ranking is a little too lofty.

It does soften the blow a bit. At least I know my friends that are UM fans won't be giving me any crap for at least a few weeks. Now if I could just get rid of the MSU fans.

I had my fantasy football draft tonight and my brother is a michigan fan. one of his friends mentioned how he wanted the draft to get started because he had some appalachian state players he wanted to draft, to which we were told that we weren't going to talk about michigan. so towards the end i told him "dont feel bad, texas almost lost to a team they had no business playing too".
