I loved the book, and would recomend it to any football fan. It was neat to learn of his trek to the top, from fan to coach of Notre Dame.

I tried to get it a week ago and B&N sold out and won't restock the book until mid August....August?! I read a few pages a couple of monthes ago and It was great. I'm not sure when the book came out but does he talk about his first season at ND at all?

Not a whole lot certainly he keeps things to his vest tightly like Lombardi did.

I have 2 more gift books "The gold Standard", I find it kinda negative, a book by Diggers wife "A coaches Wife." That too takes a few pot shots at ND

I'm gonna get 'No excuses' soon. Are there any other Irish books that are must reads about our football team during the past 20 years or so???

I know you like to read. This is a message board after all. I was just taking a shot at you for all of the threads you start that seem to come out of left field.

I found "The Golden Dream" by Gerry Faust pretty good, actually. Even if he wasn't a great coach, the man loves ND and wants only what's best for it. I met him a few years ago at the Bookstore, and he is a great guy. Plus, his dad coached CJ.

Tiny Tim wrote a book and I think it's called "Every Play, Every Day", although I could be wrong. It's pretty good, too. Some of his workouts were nuts. Mendoza shows absolutely no mercy.

No Excuses was awesome, and a rather short read.

Thankfully, the Yankee's dynasty is doing pretty awful this year.
