So I guess U.S.C. is next on there list? Reggie Bush getting paid by that agent has to warrant penalties. Can you imagine the N.C.A.A. taking away one or both of there championship?

They only won one damnit!!!

anyway!

They have the Italian Resturant, D.J.'s situation, multiple drug charges and rumors EVERYWHERE at least here in so cal about all kinds of money and favors being given to players...

but I have to say I am now convinced SC will not get hit with anything until they fall from grace ON the field first

apparently it's news to the NCAA also

From Casablanca......................

Captain Renault: Rick, there are many exit visas sold in this café, but we know that you've never sold one. That is the reason we permit you to remain open.
Rick: Oh? I thought it was because I let you win at roulette.
Captain Renault: That is another reason.

Rick: How can you close me up? On what grounds?
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.
[aloud]
Captain Renault: Everybody out at once!

Ah, dead on.

From Jay at BGS:

MilesofMyles: After careful consideration, the NCAA
has taken the extraordinary step of ruling Mr.
Jarrett ineligible. No player, regardless of
All-America status, is above the law.
GrinAndJarrett: Can I be reinstated now?
MilesofMyles:
MilesofMyles:
MilesofMyles: Yes.

I think we lost 5 scholarships back in the 90's didn't we?

Seems like OU got off light.

I feel bad for them, losing all their wins from 2 years ago...It's really not good for the players' confidence knowing that they actually lost to Baylor.

I'm a bit confused. If Bob Stoops' record was 86-19 before the forfeits, how come it's only 78-19 after...wouldn't it become 78 - 27?

Technically, I think they forfeited the wins, not the games. It's as if the games were never played. But for the sake of criticizing the NCAA, it's ok play the truth a little.

Yeah, you are right.

It's dumb really. It means nothing. The kids know how it played out...

This punishment is a joke.

That wold be sweet. I will be happy if they just nullify the Bush Push...

And no, I don't think anything will happen to them.

And apparently the appeal by OU wasn't about 'deleting' the wins. Their point was that the 2005 Orange Bowl debacle should have been 'erased' as well.:embar:

First post from a different thread about the same thing:
Does the recently announced sanctions against Oklahoma have any bearing on their current recruiting season? does it give anyone second thoughts who has already committed or maybe make those uncommitted (i.e. A. Brown) think about whether OK is a good option?

By the way - they are losing 2 scholarships each year for 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. Does that mean next years team can only have 83 scholarship players and then the following year only have 81? Can someone fill me in on how that works?
