Ryan was mentioned on Power Hour so I figured I'd give him a look.

Just watched this kid's video on Rivals and was blown away. Has excellent moves, footwork and surprising power and speed. He is gonna be a major prospect IMO.

"There's quite a few," he said. "A lot of local schools in the Virginia area and a lot of eastern schools too. Notre Dame spoke to my coach a couple of times and sent letters."
Some say VT is the early favorite, but I hope ND gets involved. He looks like a dynamic RB in the making and you can never have too many of those!

Williams visited VT this weekend and came away very impressed. That said, he still hasn't received any offers yet... but that will change.

Schools of interest-UVA???? Do I need to post Colin Cowherd's rant on UVA haha lol. Did he watch them get banged on by Pitt 38-13? Al Groh will be gone after another disappointing season this year.

Question: B&G and Rivals have him listed as ATH, but Scout -- and this profile -- as RB. Which is more accurate?

Damn this kid, he won't talk to anyone and therefore I can't tell how interested he really is in ND and his timetable. Him not talking to the media is a good thing for an ND type kid, but I have no idea where this kids head is at. People say it's a VT and ND battle, but those same people (Mike Frank) even stated they and everybody they have talked to have never talked to him. Anyway I felt like bringing this guys thread back to life since he is the least talked about good prospect out there and it'll probably remain that way with no replies or posts past mine on this thread. good-bye............

Keepin it alive... :awesomewo: He seems to really fit the definition of our new style of runningback.

Agreed. He's got good hands, and has a solid frame to tack onto already. Its either him or Carlton Thomas for the RB slot - so long as we still end up taking one, to begin with.

What type of running back is that? Power? Aldridge & Hughers certainly fit that mold. But Allen and perhaps Carlton Thomas are speed / skat backs.

I think this year may end with out a rb recruit.

Uh.. yeah the power type of runningback. The type that hits the hole hard and takes on tackler's instead of running away or ducking out of bounds. Travis Thomas, James Aldridge, and Hughes are the guys that will do that this year and on. IF you saw the spring game Armando Allen did not get tossed the ball and run to the outside. He ran it straight up the gut and with success. Carlton Thomas, IF we get him, will do the same. But Ryan Williams has the body type and speed to be really great in with this new mentality toward runningback.

Ryan is originally from New York and says he really likes a city atmosphere. Says he's still open to everyone since other schools are starting to show more interest.

He should go to Rutgers then. Sabino lived in NY too most of his life so getting him out of Florida might not be as hard....even though I still think Miami is the darkhorse of this Sabino race.

Ryan plans on visiting Notre Dame the first weekend in August. He won't let his decision known to the public until the middle or end of his season in order to get his teamates more exposure. I've got a real good feeling about this kid.

That shows some character right there. Definitely sounds like an ND type of guy. I really hope we get Williams, both because of his personality and football skills.

I like that he is going solo for these other visits but bringing mom to ND in August and wants to be there at the same time as Weis is around. Not like Steve Filer not even seeing Jimmy Sweatervest on an official visit to Columbus.

This guy and Jon Baldwin are both worth waiting until Signing Day for.
