Star ratings for recruits.

People People People. I love all you guys (and some girls) but it makes me sick to see people talking about how many stars a certain recruit has. I will explain something and dont take this like im bitching you guys out. I dont give a rats ass if all we get are 1 star players. It's obvious that Charlie and Corwin and Rob and so on and so fourth know what kind of players will fit there system. They know what they are doing and they know who they want to get, so if they picked up 1 star players the rest of the way I'm just going to have to trust what theyre doing. Recruiting is going great so far and I hope we keep doing better and better. GO IRISH!

I agree with you, but it's just easier to accept a class of highly rated kids versus some of the 3 star kids. Even though the 3 star kids may end up doing just as good if not better in the ND system.

People bitch about stars because it's something to talk about and I want our players to get their due. I don't get why some people crap their pants about it, everyone here trusts CW and CB talent evaluation, but not that of Rivals and Scout so we critique their picks. It's been happening for years and the sooner people get over it the easier their life with be.

CW is getting the kids he wants, it doesn't matter how many stars a player gets. If CW or CB wants a player right now that good enough for me.

I disagree. I think you can look at stars and go off them, I do. I think the people who give stars know what they are talking about. I also think Weis and company know what they are talking about too. But just cause they get a three star guy doesn't mean they didn't want a five star guy. Its kind of like them settling on the three star cause the five star didn't pick them. But I do agree that some are under rated.

And many a 5 star does not pan out. It feels better getting the highly touted kids, but it is nothing more than a guess about how a 17-18 year old will do in college.

I think a lot of the complaining about stars is that when a recruit gets hosed by biased ratings. I mean a guy has a 4 star ranking and then commits to usc and all of a sudden he is given a 5 star rating. The you have a 4 star rating player who commits to ND and then is lowered to 3 stars. We are all still happy with the recruit and believe in the recruit just more or less upset how his ranking is dropped.

I am a Houston Texans fan, and I can see everyone here going ohhhh the O-Line it sucks. Because it is what is reported on, but Pittsburgh, Seattle and St. Louis all gave up more sacks.

Gone are the days of true unbiased reporting now it is abot reporting info so that you get better ratings not giving all the facts.

The same people complain about the bias rankings for every team. They say ND recruits get bumped up and theres get moved down. Everyone complains which is the entire point of them in the first place. I do agree that Clausen got a raw deal because he decided in April and it isn't cool to have the definite #1 player decide so early so lets move him down and make Joe McKnight #1 so we can have a breaking announcement on NSD.

I'm a UK fan also. On their football boards, they are in 100% agreement that ND recruits have their rankings go UP just by commiting to ND. I tried to show them how that isn't true, showed 'em examples of last year of the opposite happening, but they just call me a homer.

So I agree Knight. The rest of the country sees it differently (from the truth).
