Well, now I know what they meant by a preview earlier. It is basically a geographical breakdown of the Rivals 250 that will be published tomorrow. Here is the link if anybody is interested. No big surprises in the geography as Florida, Texas, and California continue their domination.

Since it is a slow Monday night and school has been out for me allow me to set my predictions for the Rivals 250 because I don't feel like waiting 10 hours.

1. Sean Cwynar (Because he's awesome)
2. Joseph Fauria (14 TE's in the 250? i'd say he's DEFINENTLY in the top 14)
3. John Goodman (#1 player in Indiana and theres only 1 player from there in the 250)
4. Darius Fleming (Robbed of top 100)
5. Anthony McDonald (Robbed of top 100)
6. Omar Hunter (Rivals has film on him, they don't have Scouts excuse)

---------I think Hafis Williams and Poz. will just miss it and could potentially get 4*s. Braxston Cave remains underrated IMO. There are no Kentucky guys on the Rivals 250 so that counts out Brandon Newman. Mike Golic is no suprise because he is raw and commited very early.

---------What do you think of my list?

They have not published the Rivals 250 yet, but they are updating the player profiles, and if they have completed that part, there are five additional ND recruits in the 250, Cwynar, Fauria, McDonald, Goodman, and Fleming. They may not have finished with the individual profiles, but as of right now, they are the 5 in addition to Rudolph, Crist, and Clelland, for a total of 8 out of 14. Actual list should be published in about 30 minutes.

Some of the recruits that made the 250 that the Irish are in contention for:

Cyrus Gray
Art Forst
Kenneth Page
Dan McCarthy
Jamoris Slaughter
Garrett Goebel

This is in addition to the Rivals 100 guys that ND has a shot at such as:

Michael Floyd
Marcus Forston
Gerell Robinson
Brice Butler
Ryan Williams
Jonathan Baldwin
Chancey Aghayere
Ethan Johnson
Steven Filer
Etienne Sabino
Robert Blanton

That is a total of 17 uncommitted on the Rivals 250 that ND is at least in contention for. A lot of talent still out there for not a whole lot of slots.

Hunter will definitely be in the list (hopefully top 100) by the time it's all said and done, and I think Hafis and Newman will be a 4 star when those are released. 8 in the top 250 already is very very nice!

101 of the 250 on the list are verbal commits. ND is tied for fourth with 8 recruits on the list. UCLA is #1 with 12 out of 14 total commits on the list.

Here are all the schools with 5 or more committed recruits on the Rivals 250:

1) UCLA- 12
2) Texas- 10
3) Georgia- 9
4- Tie) ND- 8
4- Tie) Ohio State- 8
6) FSU- 7
7) Oklahoma- 6
8- Tie) Michigan- 5
8- Tie) USC- 5

pOSU has 8 out of their 9 commits on the list. Michigan 5 out of 6, and USC 5 out of 7. Only Texas with 10 out of 19 commits has a lower % of recruits committed on the 250 list than Notre Dame among the top 9 schools listed above.

Notably missing from the 5 or more list at this time are LSU, Florida, and Tennessee. Florida because of Meyer's tactics has only 1 commit thus far, who is on the list. LSU has 7 commits, and only 2 made the list, and Tennessee also has 7 commits, with only 1 on the list.

I find it comical how Hunter is not on the list. Scott Vallone and not Omar Hunter, good job Rivals.

I think UCLA might lose a few of their commits before this is all said and done...

Anyways, congrats on the good recruiting start. Ohio State and Notre Dame should both finish around the top five(as well as USC and Oklahoma, and I'm sure a few of the SEC powers will emerge).

About Omar Hunters ranking.....

ON II there is a post from the Mods on the main board, saying Hunter is tagged a non-250 ****, but are going to wait and see how he heals from the rumored fib. fx and performs during the season before elevating him back.

-----Since he didn't have to get surgery or a cast I'd say he'll be more then fine. I can EASILY see him being in the top 100 when it's all said and done.

..........buuuuut doesn't USC have a commit who really didnt even play JR. year but got 5 star? USC BIAS.

In addition to Hunter being a non-250 Rivals ****, two other high profile ND offers are now non-250 Rivals ****, Kapron Lewis-Moore and Jeremy Brown.

Still no stars listed for Poz, Cave, Newman, Golic, and Hafis Williams.

Also no stars up for Martavious Odoms & Carlton Thomas. I guess because none of the Florida schools have offered Thomas and only the U has offered Odoms that the Rivals guys figure these 2 guys are chopped liver. Measly old offers fron Thomas from ND, USC & Auburn, and Auburn, Tenn, & ND in addition to the U for Odoms. Maybe they have not watched their film.

The other peculiar one with no stars yet is Xavier Brewer. He was on the Rivals 100 pre-eval, now he might be a *** or less. Very strange.

I find it shocking that Thomas and Odoms didn't get one of the 140 offers that were put out there by Florida. I just got mine last week.

Ive heard that Xavier Brewer has not looked good at some of the camps, and Odoms has serious grade issues, which makes me wonder why ND has offered. Also Im pretty sure miami has not offered odoms due to grades not talent(hes got plenty)

NDbrad i'm pretty sure Odoms wouldn't get an offer if he had terrible grades. Thats why Golden Tate (who isn't a bad student) and Goebel this year had to wait for offers. That makes alot of sense ND offers a bad student (Odoms) and Miami just simply can't take the risk of offering such a dumb thug.

Miami not offering because of grades, in other words we did not offer because he is smarter than all of our professors and we knew he would not accept.

I'm not sure where the Miami did not offer Odoms thing started, but it's not correct to begin with. According to Rivals, Odoms does have an offer from Miami, and although they are certainly not perfect, their database is twice as reliable as the Scout database that says Odoms does not have a Miami offer.

No Carlton Thomas and with all of his incredible offers. The hell with the Florida schools, it only helps our chances that they haven't offered.

Not trying to start any fires, but Odoms himself that he has not heard from any of the big 3. Maybe it has now changed. I know scout is not the fastest in updating their database. The grades comment was purely speculation based on him not taking the SAT yet and other comments I have read.
