Fun thread, very hard. I loved Lee Becton, I think the best ever Tailback with terrible speed. He could really make you miss though!!! Feels like we are returning to these Holtz days where 9-3 is a bad year.

Also I loved Bettis. When we beat A&M and he ran over the A&M DB and trashed him, terrific. Then the coach yells at him and he says in the camera, I still got 6. BRILLIANT. Miss that swagger. It's coming back slowly.

I like Marc Edwards, as he was from Cincy. Rice was the only one to win a NC. (although the defense was pretty damn good then)

It makes me wonder what Weis could have done w/ Mirer. I always thought he was under-utilized.

I admit serious bias to those I saw live during my student days.

QB: Kevin McDougal. (OK, he was after I graduated...yep I'm way old.) Unvaunted and all but forgotten due to the hype around Ron Powlus, he led the Irish to a championship in spite of what all the haters say. The way he dismantled the Michigan defense on a 2-minute drill was poetry.

RB: Rodney Culver.

FB: Jerome Bettis, Anthony Johnson

WR: So many. Rocket and Tim Brown if I have to choose.

TE: Derek Brown
