Rivals & B&G are reporting an Official Offer to Jeremy Brown, and Jeremy becomes the 55th member of the 2008 Irish Envy Official Offer List. Jeremy plays both WR & CB in High School, but is projected at CB in college.

It appears that Brown was not offered until now because it was felt that he would not leave the state of Florida for college. Apparently Jeremy has let the staff know that he is definitely willing and he has listed ND, along with 4 SEC schools as his Top 5 at this time. This has been heard before many times, but Jeremy is looking for the best education possible. That statement in this case has some real credibility as you will note that he has also been offered by Northwestern.

Notre Dame is in Jeremy's top three, along with UF and Auburn. Auburn and ND are both recruiting Jeremy for CB while Florida is recruiting him to play both WR and CB which appears to really interest Jeremy.

Jeremy just received his offer, and as GG said, immediately put ND in his Top 3, along with Auburn & the school with the nickname of a swamp creature, again. I’ll have to double check but I think it is now close to 30 of ND offers that are also Florida offers. Jeremy is being recruited by ND to play CB, but he has also said that he would prefer to play WR in college. Size may be an issue for the WR spot, although Brown compares favorably with the 2 current WR's at the top of the ND depth chart.

Jeremy Brown and his family are said to be extremely impressed with Corwin Brown, and although it is still very early in Jeremy’s recruiting process, at the present time, if the cockwad does not prevail, he may be the leading candidate to go ND of the current 7 Florida athletes with ND offers.

Jeremy Brown has scheduled all of his 5 Official Visits for the Fall, culminating in his attendance at the USC/ND game on October 20th. There is a good chance that Brown will be only "ND's to lose" by that point, that is if the Irish still have scholarships to offer on October 20th.

Jeremy and his family love CB, and they would prefer that he get out of the SEC to get a real education. It is no coincidence that ND is his last official offer. If ND is competitive or somehow pulls off a shocking upset, my feeling is that Jeremy Brown will commit to ND, again, if there are slots still available at that point. Just my feel for it, nothing else to support it.

I've heard nothing but good things about Brown's recruitment. Whether its interviews, or recruiting guru's like Mike Frank, they say that ND has an inside track with him. I with Slaughter and Blanton being recruited to play CB too, he looks like a borderline plan B guy, which wouldn't surprise me. But the offers tell you that he's not to be scoffed at.

I've read his weight being even lower than 178, as low as in the 150's. You can't trust everything your read, but it does raise an eyebrow or two I'm sure.

Update on Jeremy's Official Visits. He has only scheduled 4 and ND is still the last visit, for the USC game, after which he is expected to make a decision within 2 weeks. First three Official Visits are to Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee. Anybody notice what is missing here? No visits to Florida schools. Corwin Brown is having a tremendously positive influence on the recruiting of kids like Brown & Blanton, and ND has a really solid chance at both of these kids. Brown is also being told that ND will consider him as a WR as well, which is something that Jeremy has asked about.

Besides his vist from Weis, Jeremy also recieved visits from a LSU assistant coach, UT's Fulmer, and UF's Meyer. Most now believe his top three to be ND, Auburn, and UF.

Favors Florida(disgusting) slightly over a few others, top 3 is ND Auburn and UF, and won't decide until his visit at the ND vs. USC game.

I would not put too much stock in that article. The author is a notorious misquoter and it also comes on the heels of a Florida visit. Brown's parents do not want him to go to Florida, and the ultimate decision here is going to be based on how well his visit to South Bend goes, including how well the Irish perform that day.

The hardest team on our schedule and he's going to base alot of his decision off of how we preform? I like to be optimistic, but wouldn't that be the last game we'd want him at. The atmosphere will be unreal, which is what I hope he'll take away most of all from that.

Gary Gray committed last year following the loss to Michigan, largely due to fan support during a losing effort.

I think this situation is turning out to be pretty interesting. A Florida boy watching ND vs USC before making his decision. I can't wait for the fall.

IUB...are you in Philly?

Just curious. Philly misses you. I am at school in Philly now. I am always looking for someone to talk college football recruting with, especially ND recruiting.

Maybe because of all of the rumors floating around, mostly on Scout, as to who and who are not his favorites, Jeremy Brown is now saying that he has no favorites at all. Good for you Jeremy, that is the best way to stop all the BS. The only important factor for ND with regards to Jeremy is that he is committed to making his last official visit to ND, and is planning on making his announcement shortly therafter, which means that the Irish have the last and the best opportunity to impress Jeremy, and in reality what more could you ask for.

What do you think he'll play in college? DB or WR? I've heard CB but think he would make a great slot receiver with his speed.

Jeremy would really like to have a shot at playing WR in college, and the last I heard was that he was told by ND that they would consider him for that position as well as CB. It may depend upon where the Irish stand with Blanton and Slaughter around the time of the USC game, but if Brown does commit to ND, I would assume that he would be given the opportunity to try out at WR.

On the latest Power Hour, Mike Frank mentioned that he thinks ND leads for Jeremy.

Yeah, without Corwin Brown he probably wouldn't even be considering us. ND and UF are definently his top 2, but seems to have a little more to say about how much he loves UF then ND. Granted UF is local so when we get him up here CB will be able to do his thing on his dad and on Jeremy. Check out his plays, he's a good one.
